It's Make Something Monday: Fred the Sock Monkey
It's Fred the Sock Monkey! I can totally hear you guys laughing at the poor guy's ears! Yes, they are totally crooked and wonky-LOL! Ugh...I was so proud. He was turning out great! I worked on him all day on and off in my new craft room. He was pretty much finished. All I had left to do was sew on one arm and do the ears. It was dinner time and then time to put Lucas to bed so I stopped and came upstairs. After Lucas' bedtime, we decided to watch a movie and here is when I made my big mistake. For some crazy reason, I thought I would be able to cut and sew on Fred's ears while watching a movie in the dark! Not to mention, the socks are dark blue! What was I thinking?! Well, poor Fred the Sock Monkey is for my son. He will not notice. He's only 1 after all!

So, even though I am not exactly a pro at making sock monkeys, I am totally addicted to making them! They are so cute, quick to make, and cheap to make! I bought a pack of 5 really cute tube socks for $5. That's 5 sock monkeys! Hopefully, the next 4 won't have crooked, misshapen ears : )

I can't wait to see everyone's creations! Oh, I think it's great! The lopsided ears give him a little character! I've seen real people with lopsided ears! I have to try making on of these guys. My son would love it...a Christmas idea maybe!

Monkeys are like people, and sometimes their body parts aren't exactly the same on each side, right? That monkey is adorable!

I think he looks fabulous! I love the blue, anyone can make a boring old brown sock monkey, it takes really creativity to think outside the box. Besides, a lot of kids would prefer a blue monkey. I know my kids would love it.
