Baby Chaleco:Bibs that Look Good AND Keep Your Baby Dry

I never thought I would write about a baby bib. Honestly, all of the bibs that I have tried or have seen are either really unattractive or really cute, but don't work. Actually, even the really unattractive ones don't work unless they are solid plastic or vinyl and then they are not comfortable for a child to wear all day. Lucas has been a drooler from day one. He used to get very red, irritated cheeks and hands from all of the drool. I probably own 40 bibs. None of them really work for a serious drooler. They all have to be changed out every 30 minutes to an hour, which is why I have so many of them. Not to mention, that bibs totally ruin an outfit!
When I came across a company called Baby Chaleco (means vest in Spanish), I thought the bibs LOOKED fabulous, but I was skeptical about whether they would actually work. I was able to try out one of the Dribble Buster styles. It is a very beautiful thing when style and function meet and that is exactly the case with Baby Chaleco bibs. First, they are totally adorable! They are designed to compliment an outfit not ruin it. Carol Schiller, the Chief Mama and Chaleco creator, researches what is in style every season to design the perfectly stylish bib for your modern tot. The two features that make these bibs stand out to me are the vest design and the fabric that is used to line the bib. The fact that the bib is designed just like a vest makes it like a piece of clothing, which means comfort for your baby and more importantly, your child won't try to take it off. The fabric that is used to line the inside of the bib comes from an outdoor performance company. It makes the bib extremely water resistant and according to the Baby Chaleco website, it will actually hold an entire sippy cup worth of liquid without soaking through. I thought it would be interesting to test this claim so I did! Below you can see video of Mike (the hubby) pouring an entire sippy cup of water on the bib. I placed a paper towel on the inside to see if the water would soak through. No water soaked through! The paper towel stayed BONE DRY!
I also love that the bibs have adjustable snaps rather than Velcro. No more clothes being ruined in the wash because they got stuck to the Velcro and the bib grows with your baby. Also, the back of the Shoulder Shield, Dribble Buster and Bubble Blocker styles ALL feature stretch backs, which also allow them to grow with your baby and make them comfortable for all day wear.
Below, you can see Lucas sporting his totally adorable bib. It looks great and more importantly, it protected his clothing from his incessant drool ALL DAY! He is cutting molars and he is a drooling machine. He wore it all day and his clothes and skin stayed dry!
These baby bibs will cost you anywhere from $32.50 to $38.50. Yes, they are expensive, but compared to other bibs that I have tried, they work and that makes the price worth it. I have purchased over 40 bibs. Who needs 40 bibs? The only reason that I kept buying them was because I was trying to find one that worked. I know I must have spent 2 to 3 times the price of ONE Baby Chaleco and I still didn't have a bib that worked! I would have gladly purchased 3 or 4 Baby Chaleco's to have bibs that actually stayed on, protected Lucas' clothing and skin, and even looked wonderful.
