Make Something Monday: Another Owl Softie!

Monday, December 08, 2008 Posted by Jolly Mom

I made another owl softie. I love these little buggers, but I wish i could take a sewing class so that I could actually use a sewing machine properly AND sew straight lines-LOL! I have all of these ideas in my mind of things I want to make, but I am limited by my lack of sewing skills! So, who is volunteering to teach me how to sew? : )

I can't wait to see what everyone else has made!

So cute! I love your owls!

I self taught myself to sew (my post today is actually sort of about this). My mom taught me a little as a child, and I took one home ec. class and make a dolphin. I have found that purchasing patterns for things I want to make are the best way to learn new techniques I can use in my own creations. The sewing straight just came from practice and still sometimes isn't perfect! That's what give it that nice handmade look though.

I think your owls are lovely the way they are. No improvement needed!

    That owl is darling!
(Don't let on that you can't sew a straight line - no one will know the difference!)
