Mommy Makeup: Look Divine in Half the Time!

Sunday, December 21, 2008 Posted by Jolly Mom

I don't know about you, but ever since Lucas was born, I can barely take a peaceful shower let alone put on a full face of makeup. I'm a work at home mom and my days are filled with business phone calls, diaper changing, preparing meals, laundry, negotiating contracts, reading Where's Elmo? 123 times per day, speaking with vendors, advertising my company, building stuff with Mega Bloks...well, you get the picture! When Lucas naps, I work because it's the only time I can make a business call without a squealing toddler in the background! And, since I'm not willing to get up at the crack of dawn just to put on some makeup or do my hair, I have just resigned to the "natural" look and by "natural" I mean hair in a ponytail and no makeup! However, I really wish that I did have more time for me because I miss the days of looking good. I mean, admit it, when you look good there is a bounce in your step and you just feel better. So, when I came across Mommy Makeup on the web, I was immediately excited!
Mommy Makeup is a line of cosmetics developed by an award winning makeup artist named Debra Rubin-Roberts. Debra is also a busy mom and she created Mommy Makeup because she quickly realized after the birth of her daughter that there was no way she would have the time to do her makeup the way she did in the past. Her goal was to create a line of makeup that could be easily applied in 7 minutes or less. Mommy Makeup's signature products are makeup kits that do your ENTIRE FACE in minutes from start to finish. The Clean-n-Casual and Pretty-n-Polished kits contain 5 or 6 products that do your ENTIRE FACE! From your first touch of concealer to the finishing touch of lip gloss, it's all included. And each kit contains "Paint by Number" Instructions and Face Chart to allow mistake proof application.

Debra was sweet enough to send me the Mineral Dual Powder for me to try. First, Mommy Makeup gets beau coup points for offering a PRESSED mineral powder. I have been using loose mineral powders and they are a total mess. Not to mention, that for a full face, you have to use many of those little containers. They are so hard to travel with and time consuming to apply! Imagine several mineral powder containers and a Kabuki brush just to touch up your face while out. I tried doing this until one of those containers opened in my diaper bag...uh...not good! Having a pressed mineral powder is so convenient. The Mineral Dual Powder evened out my skin and gave me a smooth, natural look. I love that it is easy peasy to apply and to travel with. Ok, now let me admit that I am a total sucker for pretty packaging. The pressed powder comes in the most fabulous compact! It is a gunmetal color with a mirror like finish and it says Mommy Makeup on the top. Seriously, you will feel like a Mommy Diva pulling it out to touch up your face! And, all of the pressed powders have really cute names. For example, I asked for the medium color, which is called Due Date. So cute!

Of course, Mommy Makeup is not just for moms, but for all busy women looking to reduce the time they spend in front of the mirror. If you would like to look "divine in half the time", head over to Mommy Makeup!
