Not So Wordless Wednesday
This is one of my favorite rooms in my house. Yes, it's a pretty room, but that's not really why I love it. I love what it holds. Memories.

In this room, I have some of my most meaningful possessions. From early on in life, my grandmother told me that one day everything in her china cabinet would be mine. She didn't just have china. There were all sorts of trinkets that any little girl would love playing with. She always let me play with them no matter how fragile or valuable. My grandmother passed away many years ago when I was 14. A few years ago, my mother (who remembered my grandmothers promise) traveled to Uruguay and brought me everything from her china cabinet. We lovingly unwrapped each item, washed it, and put it in its new home. There are many times that I just go in there to look at the dainty tea cups, tea pots, and other pretty trinkets and I think of my grandmother. I would trade all of it to be able to sit down with her today. Let her play with my son. Laugh with her again. I know that won't happen so I go to this room and I look at everything and I remember.

I remember all the cute little knick knacks my grandma had when I was little. Then a greedy relative took them all when she was in the hospital once. Grrrr!

It's a great room to have! I remember my great gma having a room with bookcases, two chairs, a tv, a couch, and all of her knitting stuff. it was great, then there was the basement, creepy but there are memories of it.

Fantastic room and sweet story. I love the blue desk and the china. I wish I had more passed down items in my family. I will have to start my own traditions I suppose!

What a sweet post. My dad just brought me some Christmas decorations that belonged to my grandma. My girls love knowing that these things are their great-grandma's, and that it is something we will have forever to remember her by.
