CLOSED:Rakkiddo Giveaway

Have you guys seen this cool shoe storage gadget? It's called the Rakkiddo by Rakku Designs and it's the coolest, most innovative type of shoe storage that I have ever come across! When I came across the Rakkiddo on the web, I had to contact the company, Rakku and see if I could bring it to my readers. I wasn't able to try it out myself because I would rather one of you have the chance to try it and then tell me all about it.
It has 15 expandable pockets that can hold up to 20 pairs of shoes depending on the size or type of shoe. It has locking, swivel wheels so that you can easily move it around. I love that you can see all of your child's shoes and it spins so that you can easily get to each shoe. Each shoe is also protected so that it is not soiled by another shoe. Seriously, how ingenious and cool is the Rakkiddo?!
Here you can see video of the adult Shoe Wheel, which works just like the children's version, the Rakkiddo.
Want one for yourself? You can purchase The Shoe Wheel for $65 and the Rakkiddo for $49.99. You can order either version by calling 1(888) 707-2558 or by placing an order through http://www.blogger.com/www.rakkudesigns.com.
Rakku Designs have generously offered one Jolly Mom reader a chance to win a Rakkiddo in your choice of either pink or blue!

However, on their website blue is not an option, they list silver, white, black, and pink.

I'd love to have a blue one - and it would be put to good use!
The shoe wheel was designed when Torro moved to an apartment and didn't have anywhere to store his families shoes - the best inventions are made when this happens!
December 22, 2008 10:20 AM
How cool my kids will love rolling that thing all around our house. I like the pink one.
I learned that the guy who came up with the idea was a former manufacturing engineer for McDonnell Douglas!
December 22, 2008 10:35 AM
That is the coolest thing ever! Every morning I run around like my heads cut off looking for the matching shoe for my son. This would help so much, I would still be running around like a mad women but this would be one less thing I'm screaming at. Don't you want to be my neighbor ... LOL.
If it was for me I would go with pink ... ugh but since I must be the unselfish mom, let's go with blue for the boys. Yup no regret ;)
Paying homage to the Shoe Wheel's Asian Roots, Torro and his wife and partner, Lori Quon, named their company "Rakku," meaning "rack" in Japanese.

Pink.
They even have a Shoe Pod, which can fit those large size men's shoes in size 14 plus, which would be great for my step-son, who is six foot four and the last I knew had size 14 shoes. I'll have to email him about this, he's in the Navy overseas. The smaller giveaway one in pink would be great for the girls.
December 22, 2008 6:17 PM
I would love to have it in pink! I found out that Torro can up with this idea after moving into a apartment in Hong Kong. He couldn't find anything great to store his family shoes in so he came up with the Rakkiddo.

For all its immense popularity, The Shoe Wheel only accommodates shoes up to men’s size 11. The Shoe Pod’s larger, expandable pockets allow men who wear sizes up to 14-plus to get in on the action.
In an acknowledgment that men generally own fewer pairs of shoes than women, The Shoe Pod is only half as large as The Shoe Wheel, holding a dozen pairs as opposed to 20+. It has no moving parts and has only three elastic cords holding the pockets in place. Rakku’s extensive research into conventional men’s shoe racks indicated that men’s shoes that don’t have large enough heels to anchor them often fall off these racks—a problem easily solved with the advent of The Shoe Pod.
While men with larger shoe sizes are the ideal consumer for this product, women who have smaller collections or lack the storage space required for the larger Shoe Wheel will find The Shoe Pod to their liking as well.

December 27, 2008 10:26 PM
Love the blue one since I have two boys! I thought it was cool it took him four years to invent this after being sick of piling shoes up their spare bedroom. We have the same problem. Our main entry way is very narrow and we have no closet there so our shoes pile up too. It is awful. Thanks!!!
December 27, 2008 10:38 PM
The black shoe pod looks like a super cool product too. We have a problem with shoes too. Our washer and dryer blocks that area and it makes it tough to store our shoes too. The blue rakkiddo would be great. I love anything blue.

I would be thrilled with either color. I saw one of these in the stores a few weeks ago and it's great looking. It doesn't take up as much room as I thought it would. I learned that the designer, Torro, is a former manufacturing engineer for McDonnell Douglas. Great invention!
