The best way that I know to take time for myself is to ask for help! Both Mike and I are work at home parents so by the end of the day, we are both tired from working and being home with a crazy (but adorable and very loved) 18 month old toddler! Mike is really an amazing man and he is there for me anytime that I need him. If I start to feel like I need "Mom Time", he steps in to make sure that I get it. I enjoy the simple things in life so for me, taking time for myself usually doesn't mean anything extravagant. I love to read a good book and sip on a hot cup of coffee with French Vanilla creamer. Told you I was easy-LOL.

Blogging has also become a wonderful outlet for me and a way to interact and learn from other moms. Also, Mike and I make it a point to take a bit of quiet time every evening after Lucas goes to bed. We both take about 30 minutes to read a book or surf the internet or whatever we feel like doing that night. It's kind of like a recharge the batteries moment after a day of crazy toddler antics and phones ringing of the hook.

That brings me to my next point. We make sure to stick to a pretty regimented night time routine for Lucas. We switch nights on who bathes him, which gives the other a bit of time to themselves. The rest of the evening is always dedicated to Mike and me. We are total night owls so we usually stay up WAY too late watching movies, TV shows, talking, or whatever. It's fun though and it's probably one of our favorite moments of the day! Finally, I love getting together with my friends for a bit of Girl Time! We gossip, rant and rave about the kiddos, and anything else that happens to be plaguing us that day. After wards, I always feel renewed!
