Get Fit While You Do Everyday Things with MBT, The Anti-Shoe!
Well now you can with MBT, the anti-shoe. MBT, which stands for Masai Barefoot Technology was invented by Swiss engineer Karl Müller. MBT is the first physiological footwear and they are designed to simulate walking in sand. They have a thick, curved sole that creates a natural but uneven walking surface. As a result, you will train muscles, burn calories, protect joints ...all while you're doing something else. Pretty cool, huh?
I had the opportunity to try the Kaya MBT Shoe (pictured left). First of all, I have to say that they are really cool looking! I will admit that when I first put them on it felt a bit strange walking in the shoe. I mean it’s unlike anything I have ever experienced before with a shoe. You have to adjust your balance to compensate for the uneven walking surface caused by the shoe. After about an hour, I got used to it and I have fa
llen in love with them. I actually have some knee problems and aching joints, which are relieved when I wear this shoe. It definitely feels like a mini-workout when you wear them, but since you’re going about your normal everyday business, you don’t even think about it. I just put them on in the morning and go about my day as usual. It's just really cool that thoughout my day I am benefiting from the wonderful health benefit that MBT Shoes provides!Learn More About MBT Shoes
MBT Shoes are available for both women and men and they come in a multitude of styles from sporty to casual to boots! To learn more about MBT Shoes or to purchase, please visit the company website.

I agree with everything MBT has done with this shoe. Modern man as he has developed, isn't challenging his /her body enough to stay fit. We don't walk, we don't get up to change a channel, we love new technologies that make our life easier. But, in essence what we're doing is destroying our health.
Every little bit helps when staying healthy. The type of shoe is very important, not only to burn calories but to keep us from having foot problems, alignment problems, knee problems as we age. I MUST HAVE A PAIR OF THESE SHOES.

BTW... LOL at Mike on the Jump Snap! He did a great job!

You are absolutely right, we moms must walk 8,000 steps a day, at least, just doing our everyday chores. If all of those steps were part of a workout, think how great that would be! I love the idea that I could be working out as I walk about. And I know how it feels when you walk on the beach. If these shoes simulate walking on the sand, I know I would get a real workout using MBT shoes! Everything we can do for our bodies to stay in shape is a benefit! I would love to try these shoes for a day.

I actually really enjoyed your review of MBT. I have seen these in catalogs and wondered if they were as great as they made them out to seem. Also I wondered what it would be like to walk in them!
They look pretty cool I'd be willing to try them out if I could find some that are affordable!

Wow these look like really well thought out shoes. It is about time this much consideration gets put into such an important part of our lives! This looks like something I would love to try out one of these days. Thanks for the review.

I'd really like to try these shoes, but they are super expensive. I bought myself a pair of sandals that were based on similar technology that were only $40 - fitflops. I wonder how they're different. They felt like walking on sand. I definitely had to work harder at first.

These sound to be just what I need...seriously. I've given myself knee problems from power walking with the wrong shoes. I also love that these shoes will train muscles and burn calories.

These look like interesting shoes and I'm all for extra calories burned, but I already have gate problems as I have bunions and I've always found it hard and tiring to walk in the sand. I would be all for trying them if they had a 30 day return policy. Thanks for the great review and please follow up after you've worn them awhile.

I've heard about these shoes and seen them sold at the Walk Shop, but they are out of my price range. I'm looking at the Fit Flops as well, and will probably buy them this summer. Maybe you get what you pay for, and the extra amount you pay for the MBT is really worth it.

I have a pair of these and they really do work. My posture is so much better and they are great when you are on your feet all day.

Sounds like something I would have loved to have as a young mother. Now as a not so young or healthy grandmother I'd have to do some more research on if I could wear the shoe. Your review has got me interested enough to go do the research though and for that I thank you.

MBT's are amazing. I borrowed my girlfriend's pair of sandals to try them out and absolutely felt the workout after walking for just 10 minutes in them. They look a little funny when you're holding them in your hands, but once you've got them on they pretty much look like everyday shoes. I just wish they weren't so darned expensive.

Very interesting. They certainly are different looking, but well designed. I was surprised they are available in so many styles and colors. Also surprised they're available at a local sporting goods store here in town.
Thank you,

I got MBT shoes because they advertised they were good for cellulite a few years ago. I develope 2 bone spurs in my heel and took them when I went to physical therapy for my bone spurs and plantar fascitis. They told me they were not a good shoe but to wear a high level running shoe.

Strange looking shoes, but I'm at an age where comfort trumps looks when it comes to my footwear. Great review, I hope you follow up after you've had them a while.

Walking outside is my favorite exercise. Since I do not live at the beach, the added benefits of walking in sand are not something I get to enjoy very often. These shoes would be a great addition to my walking routine. And, I can wear them all day and not even know I am exercising! I'd definitely check them out.

These shoes are awesome! How cool to get into shape for doing things you already ahve to do. Finding time to exercise is a huge challenge for me, so these would be perfect!
Thanks!!
