Help Your Children Learn Healthy Habits and Routines with Haydenburri Lane's Rascals & Routines

"NO!" and "I don't want to!" are a couple of phrases that parents shudder to hear from their children. They always seem to come in response to asking your children to do a routine activity like bedtime or bath time. My son, Lucas used to be great about bedtime. He would happily and willingly go to bed without a problem. In the last few weeks, that has started to change. All of a sudden, he now throws temper tantrums at the mention of going "night-night". We literally have to chase him around the room!

It's so important to teach your kids about routines so that they know what to expect and aren't scared or upset when these things inevitably have to be done. One company that is helping parents introduce their children to routines is Haydenburri Lane. I am really excited to tell you more about them because they are a truly wonderful company!

Hillary Hayden Burri is both the founder and President Haydenburri Lane. As a young girl, Hillary used to dread going to bed at night. It meant the end of having fun and the start of monsters under her bed. For protection, she would put her stuffed animals all around her room. Later on in life, Hillary had the vision of making bedtime fun for kids by providing them with the tools she wished that she'd had as a young girl.

Haydenburri Lane's first products to launch are the Rascals & Routines learning system that introduces kids to a world of adorable characters that turn everyday routines into fun adventures. Rascals & Routines offers books, music, media, and toys for parents to use in establishing healthy routines with their children. The five Rascals and ambassadors of the brand are Bubbles, PJ, Chomper, Paige, and Rory. Each cute animal character has their own special story that helps children learn about bedtime, health, hygeine, and ecology!

Hillary generously sent me the Carry Me Everywhere Suitcase to try out with Lucas. The Carry Me Everywhere Suitcase comes wonderfully packaged in a keepsake suitcase and includes 5 Rascals puppets, a satin and fleece blanket, and the Bedtime Safari Book. It is seriously adorable and everything in the suitcase is really well made. The blanket is large and incredibly soft. It also has this cute puppet pocket on the front! The board book is very thick, durable, and BEAUTIFULLY illustrated! Lucas just LOVES the book and it is now one of his favorites that he reaches for every night. The puppets are such a great addition-they really help me interact with Lucas at bedtime and we have so much fun playing out the characters from the book!

The entire premise behind Rascals and Routines is really so beneficial and fun for kids and parents. You have to check out the Haydenburri Lane website and the Rascals and Routines blog where you'll find helpful parenting tips, free music downloads, and other fun stuff! Right now, the Carry Me Everywhere Suitcase is being offered for $29.95, but that is only for a limited time so if you want it then make sure to head over there asap! It would also make an excellent gift for any child and the parents would appreciate it too!

What a wonderful concept. Wish it had been around when my kids were little. Of course computers weren't around then. I'll pass this onto my daughter who really use some help in these areas.

    Thanks for including this.

This is such a good idea. This would be helpful for when they have to spend the night at someone elses house for the transitioning. rosans4@comcast.net

I really believe that I will purchase this. My first son didn't have many routines when he was little. When we became stricter we had many battles to stick to our routines. Now that we have had our second child we realize how important it is to start routines early. Thanks so much for introducing me to this cute parent helper!

we quickly realized that our 2 year old daughter thrives in a routine-based environment... but the challenge for me is how to make it fun. because sometimes, as much as she needs the routines, she just doesn't want to do them. this is a great idea!

What an excellent idea! Fun instead of force usually yields better results with little ones.

    Thanks!

What a great idea to help parents ease the learning new habits / establishing a routine stage! I think every child goes through a period when they resist bedtime / teeth brushing / etc. This would definitely ease the process.

Since leaving the workforce & becoming a full-time mom, our days are unstructured and chaotic. The few activities we have consistent routines for go well, we need help with the rest. This looks like a great tool for the job!

What a great idea. I love it when learning can be made fun. I think the child absorbs the lessons so much better and it sticks with them in the long run.

What a cute idea. I know how important our bedtime routines are to my boys... brushing teeth, stories, prayers. It makes it so much easier to put them to bed. We rarely get any fights from them. This would make a great unique baby gift.
