The Ah Ha's of Weight Loss: Review and Giveaway (2 Winners)

Wednesday, March 11, 2009 Posted by Jolly Mom

Not long ago, I wrote a RAVE review on the Jump Snap, which is the hottest exercise equipment to have hit the fitness world in a while. The Jump Snap was invented by Brad LaTour and today he is back with his new weight loss book called, "The Ah Ha's of Weight Loss". Brad lost over 50 pounds and 6 inches off his waist by combining his Jump Snap exercise routine with healthy eating habits. In his book, "The Ah Ha's of Weight Loss", Brad shares with us how we can reach our weight loss goals too.

About the Book (from the website):
Unlike the next great weight loss cure, diet, pill, lotion, potion or surgery, this book delivers some practical answers. Finally, you will hear from someone who you can identify with because he's been there. You will enjoy his refreshingly honest approach about how to put yourself on a path toward healthy living. And more importantly, it will give you the confidence of knowing that implementing several small changes is truly the only way to lose weight and keep it off. It's time to let go of the failed attempts in the past and use LaTour's story and tools to finally treat yourself to the healthy body you've always envisioned.

I had the pleasure of reading Brad's book and it is the kick in the butt I needed. I've always struggled with weight issues since I was a little girl. I am the definition of a yo-yo dieter. After giving birth to Lucas I have managed to lose over 40 pounds and I am under my prepregnancy weight. However, I still need to lose 20 more pounds and I have hit a wall. I haven't lost anything in the last couple of months. Zilch. Brad's book came at the exact right moment for me.

What I Love About the Book:
  • Brad gives you the facts about weight loss; not a crazy diet that you'll never be able to sustain or some quick fix. Fact is, there is no quick fix.
  • Brad gives you the tools to succeed. (i.e. how many calories in vs. calories burned you need to lose weight)
  • The book is realistic, honest, and doable.
  • Brad's story is inspiring and makes me feel like I can succeed too.
  • The Daily Calorie Truth Logs are really helpful.
  • Nutritional Labels 101 is a must-read for anyone trying to lose weight.
After reading Brad's book, I know why I haven't lost any weight in the last couple of months. I'm not being honest with myself. One of my favorite parts of the book is when Brad says that your most powerful piece of exercise equipment is your brain. Brad says, "The constant battle that rages between your ears can often determine success and failure along your journey toward achieving a sustainable, healthy lifestyle." In other words, we often sabotage ourselves by allowing our brain to rationalize bad choices that will take us off our healthy living plan. I definitely am guilty of doing this. I make excuses to myself for not working out or making poor food choices. Did I already know this? Yes, but I wasn't being honest and this book challenged me to tell myself the truth.

If you're trying to lose weight or lead a healthier lifestyle, "The Ah Ha's of Weight Loss" is a must read. Trust me-I've read and done every diet known to man and I love this book. Brad's book will motivate you to get started with your goals and he educates you and gives you the tools you need to lose weight.

Oh man, I need that book. I'm trying so hard to lose weight and having the same problem. I am just kidding myself and not being honest. I'm interested in the book, but I'm also fascinated by the jump rope. I went to the site and was interested to see the video of the jump rope. It's very cool with an on-board calorie counter

What surprised me on the website is that the jumprope really isn't a jumprope. Weird! LOL!

I like that it's more effective than the treadmill and that me who can't jump rope with a real jump rope can use this because there is no rope.

    This fact is incredible:
