Protect Your Children's Eyes with Eyes Cream Shades: Review and Giveaway

Sunglasses on babies and kids always brings about the ooohs, aaahs, and "so cute" from people. Yes, babies and toddlers look adorable in a pair of shades, but the truth is that sunglasses are more about function than fashion. The American Optometric Association warns that "the effects of UV radiation are cumulative. This means the longer your eyes are exposed to UV radiation, the greater the risk of developing such conditions as cataracts or macular degeneration in later life." Simply put, that means sunglasses are a must for babies, toddlers, and children of all ages. Especially since kids spend way more time outdoors than adults do. However, quality matters. It can't be just any pair of sunglasses. You know those cheap plastic ones at the dollar store? Those aren't enough to give children the eye protection they need.The American Optometric Association says that sunglasses should block out 99 to 100 percent of both UV-A and UV-B radiation and that they should be made of polycarbonate to prevent shattering. So, when Eyes Cream Shades recently contacted me to review their line of super cute shades for children, I jumped at the chance to not only try them out, but bring them to you as well. I'm truly a little bit jealous-my son has better sunglasses than I do! I was concerned that he would just yank them right off, but my worries were for nothing. I’m a mother of a four-year old daughter as well as an eye doctor, and I am a definite fan of Eyes Cream Shades. I purchased my daughter’s first pair while I was still in school 2 years ago, not long after I learned about all the serious side effects that sun damage can have a young children’s eyes. They are still in great shape now, and it feels very good knowing that by simply putting the glasses on her, I am protecting one of the most vital and delicate structures in her body, her eyes. I currently recommend these glasses to every child who comes into our office and certainly all the readers of this post.
