Whole Foods Podcast: Should You Buy Natural Cosmetics?

Wednesday, May 13, 2009 Posted by Jolly Mom

I used to think that if a product was on a store shelf, then it must be safe. I mean, how can companies sell us a product that could potentially harm us? Over the years, I have learned that this is definitely not true. We have to do our own research and take our health into our own hands. This is especially true in the case of cosmetics and their ingredients, which under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic (FD&C) Act, are not required to undergo approval before they are sold to the public. Considering that the skin is our largest organ, I think we owe it to ourselves to find out more about the products we are putting on our bodies.

In continuation with their Whole Body Podcast Series, the Whole Foods Blog has recently released their newest podcast, titled "Cosmetics: What to Look For, What to Avoid", in which the importance of natural cosmetics is discussed. I just listened to it and it is very informative! If you want to get the facts behind the hype about natural cosmetics and body care ingredients, you should definitely check it out!
