No one told me that after giving birth to Lucas, I would still look pregnant. Very pregnant. In fact, it takes a long time for your stomach to return to what it used to look like. After giving birth to Lucas, I felt terrible about myself. I mean, it's ok to look pregnant when you're actually pregnant, but it's not cool when you're not pregnant anymore. I'd heard of "wrapping" or compression techniques successfully used by women for many years, but the idea of actually wrapping myself every day was too much to bear. However, I did buy a compression band at Babies R Us, but it did NOTHING at all. It fit terribly, shifted all the time, itched like crazy, and didn't compress anything. Total waste of money. Charlene Williams, founder of Anew has come up with a solution, called The Cinch that will have post-baby bellies everywhere rejoicing!

Anew sent me The Cinch for me to review. I want to first mention that The Cinch comes BEAUTIFULLY packaged in a silk zippered "garment bag". Inside, you'll find The Cinch on a lovely hanger and decorated with pink ribbon. Gorgeous. This would make a stunning baby shower or new mom gift! The Cinch itself is amazingly soft and not itchy AT ALL. Quite the opposite. Putting it on is very easy since it is a combination of Velcro and zippers. It really does compress too. You can get it as tight as you need! What I like the most about The Cinch is the actual shape though. It molds to your body and curves unlike other similar products on the market that are basically a rectangle. My body is not a rectangle and after having a baby it is DEFINITELY not a rectangle. The curvy shape of The Cinch allows for a much better fit so it doesn't shift or slide around. This coupled with the adjustability are what make The Cinch actually perform as promised. I also think it is pretty cool that it has a place for a warm/cold pack-I would have LOVED that after delivery!

I love it! I am going to be having our little guy on Monday and I know I am going to be unhappy with my post-baby body. It's not going to be easy to lose the 54 pounds I've managed to gain!
