Teach Kids Spanish and English with Boca Beth: Review & Giveaway (2 Winners!)

Earlier this year, I had the awesome opportunity to work with Boca Beth on a review and a giveaway and I am very excited to let you know that Boca Beth is back with us today! If you are not already familiar with Boca Beth, let me tell you a little bit about the program and creator. Beth Butler, also known as Boca Beth , is the founder of this really fun Spanish language series. Beth is a teacher herself and has lived in Mexico and Chile, which is where her love for Spanish as a second language began.The Boca Beth language learning series is a fun, interactive way for children to learn Spanish. Boca Beth makes learning Spanish fun by incorporating music and movement to engage children. She also gives parents and teachers a wide array of tools that will help engage children even more such as puppets, musical shakers, DVD's, and activity books. What is really wonderful about the learning series is that it is a BILINGUAL program meaning that Spanish and English are taught side-by-side.
Beth generously sent Lucas the I Like Animals DVD, a Boca Puppet, a mini-maraca, and a Language Learning activity book for me to review. Lucas immediately fell in LOVE with the DVD! Not only does he love anything that has to do with animals, but Beth's personality is infectious and the music is fun and engaging! Very cute DVD! Above all though, the words are spoken and written in both Spanish and English, which is really the best (if not only) way to learn a second language. The Boca puppet and maracca are excellent and fun tools to use along with the DVD to further engage your kids. It's a great way for parents to get involved in the learning process rather than plopping their kids in front of the TV. What's great about the Boca Beth program is that it provides parents and kids with a complete multi-media method of learning. Kids can listen to CDs, use the activity books, watch the DVDs, play instruments, and pretend play with the Boca puppet.
There are so many benefits to raising a bilingual child. Here are just a few!- Children who learn a second language early in life will most often speak with native pronunciation.
- Research has shown that second language study offers many benefits to students in terms of improved communicative ability, cognitive development, cultural awareness and job opportunities.
- A study found that bilingual children understood better than monolingual children the general symbolic representation of print -- meaning that bilingual children learn to read sooner than monolingual children (Bialystok, 1997).

I liked the BOCA BETH Beginner Set. I guess that would be a great way to start. I'd have to learn right along with my daughter. Its a good idea because so many people speak Spanish here.
