Vroom Vroom Vroom...Quickly Clean Life's Little Messes! Vroom Solo Vacuum Cleaner Review

Tuesday, June 16, 2009 Posted by Piera Jolly

They say the kitchen is the heart of the home. I totally agree. It is also the center of most messes in my home. It's the one place that needs to be cleaned every day...several times a day. I have a dog and a toddler. Enough said. There are crumbs and food and pet hair and all sorts of stuff that needs to be vacuumed throughout the day. Who has the time? or the will? Seriously, I have much better, more important, more fun things to do with my time than sweep and vacuum several times a day! So when I got the chance to review the brand new Vroom Solo vacuum, which promises to make clean up quick and easy, I was ecstatic!

About the Vroom:
H-P Products, Inc., the premier manufacturer of VACUFLO® and Dirt Devil® central vacuum systems, introduces the Vroom™, a powerful, built-in vacuum appliance. Designed to be the perfect quick-cleaning tool for small clean-ups in kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, mudrooms and other high traffic areas of the home, the Vroom is easily installed directly into the cabinetry of a room. The Vroom is available as a freestanding system or as an add-on to any central vacuum unit and comes with an adjustable wand, a combination floor/rug tool, and is covered by a 3-year warranty.

H-P Products, Inc. generously sent me a Vroom Solo to review. Ladies (and gents), I have to tell you that this is one of my favorite products...ever. Not that I've reviewed, but one of my favorite things that I own...period. Let me tell you about it. You can install it into any cabinet that you want, but we chose the cabinet under our kitchen sink. Mike, my hubby, installed it in under an hour. It's not a difficult install-all you need is an electrical outlet. Most people that have garbage disposals will have one right in the cabinet, but we have an older home that doesn't have a disposal. Mike had to run the cord from the basement into the kitchen cabinet. Most people will not have to do that though.

Here is the Vroom installed:

Once you have it installed, then the quick cleaning begins. The Vroom has a retractable 24 foot hose so installing it in my kitchen means that I can clean my laundry room, guest bath, the hallway, and the kitchen. Here are all the reasons that I love the Vroom.
  • Extremely. Powerful. Suction.
  • The Vroom automatically TURNS ON when you remove the hose. No cords or plugs to deal with. You need to vacuum? Just pull the hose out and it's ON.
  • When you're done cleaning, the hose INSTANTLY RETRACTS so you don't have to do anything. Just put it back in its place. Watch the video to see how easy and convenient it is!
  • The floor/rug tool is awesome! I have hardwood floors so most of the time, I have to sweep THEN vacuum to get everything clean. With the floor/rug tool, I don't have to do that at all. I just use the Vroom with the attachment and my floors are clean!
  • The entire system is compact, HIDDEN, and ready whenever you need it!
See The Vroom In Action:

The Vroom has added so much convenience to our lives. When I am cooking and spill something, like flour, rice, sugar, etc; I just open the cabinet, grab the Vroom hose, quickly clean, and I'm done. It's there for all the messes of the day! No lugging the vacuum out, no plugging, no cords, no putting away...it's just there. Instantly on. Instantly gone. It's just awesome! The Vroom is not a replacement for a full size vacuum though. It's intended to be used for quick clean ups and provide convenience. Obviously, the Vroom is a luxury. It's like a dishwasher. Can you clean your dishes without it? Yes, but why would you want to? If the Vroom is in your budget, I highly recommend it!

Want It: The Vroom Solo retails for $299 and can be purchased at various dealers across the country. The Vroom is also available as an add-on for central vacuums and it retails for $199. Additional attachments can also be purchased. See the website for details.
