Baby Signs Pop-Up Book Review & Giveaway! (Grand Prize: $50 Babies R Us Gift Card PLUS Book & 4 Book Winners!)
One of the main reasons that babies and toddlers have temper tantrums is because they become frustrated when they cannot communicate with us. They lack the verbal skills to tell us what they want or need so naturally, they have a fit when it happens! We're kind of going through that now with Lucas--fun times, huh? Many parents turn to teaching their kids sign language to avoid this very thing. I have always thought about teaching Lucas sign language, but it seemed too overwhelming. However, I was recently sent a new book called Baby Signs to review that makes learning sign language so easy and fun for both parents and babies. If you've thought about teaching your baby or toddler sign language, then you have to check out Baby Signs too!

About the Book:
From early morning wake–up to eating, to playtime and bedtime, Baby Signs will teach baby and parent their first fifteen signs to communicate with each other. Baby Signs is based on American Sign Language and will help encourage the use of non-verbal gestures to communicate. Research has proven that babies who are taught to use signs to express their basic ideas before they can say words are happier because they can communicate with others. It even includes a mini–poster! Baby Signs is actually a pop up book, but it is unlike any pop up book that I have ever seen! It is so beautifully and intricately illustrated.
Through pull tabs and pop-ups, both you and your baby learn exactly how to perform the various signs provided in the book. I really love this book because it provides such a great way for both parents and kids to learn together. It's a great way to interact with your kids EVEN if you don't have any interest in teaching them sign language. However, for those that do--this book gives you all of the tools you need to learn basic signs that will help babies communicate with adults. A happy baby equals a happy mom!

Want It: Baby Signs is valued at $25.99, but it can be purchased from Amazon.com for $13.59 plus FREE shipping!

I love how simple the signs are on the page. There's only a couple so you don't get confused (our baby signs book has like, twelve I think) and the illustrations are whimsical and charming. Very nice!

Yay, I'm the first to comment! I always wanted to teach my children sign language. It does get difficult for you to understand them, and I have seen with my own eyes how it can frustrate them. This would be such a great book, thanks!

I love how the baby pops out of the book. Plus its a good beginner book for my daughter.

I love the way the book is put together- delightful to look at, but not frustratingly cumbersome as far as visual overload. I also love the idea of signing with baby. I did it a little with my first, and she really is gungho to intro sign with snapdragon.

I like that there isn't a whole bunch to read so my son would be able to read it on his own easily. I like the images are so clean and simple. Thanks for the chance.

I think any little one would love the pop-ups! With my first child I really regretted not trying sign language... he was a late talker and I often felt frustrated wondering what he was trying to communicate. With this next one I would love to be able to use this book!
