30 Day Shred: Day 3 and I feel like I've been run over by a train. Twice.

Tuesday, September 22, 2009 Posted by Jolly Mom

So, the other day I was channel surfing when I saw a commercial for Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred DVD. I had heard of it before, but that night it really piqued my interest. Off I went to read about it online. After reading many stellar reviews, I decided that I had to have it. The next day, after sending Mike out to Walmart, Target and Best Buy to find it and buy it--I started The Shred. OMG. I have a new found respect for The Biggest Loser contestants. In 25 minutes, Jillian managed to make me feel like I was going to die. I don't know whether I love her or hate her at this point, but I did say some notsonicethings to the TV while I was huffing and puffing my way through the dvd {lol}. I did make it through the entire workout without stopping so that's good. However, my entire body hurts. There are muscles aching that I didn't even know that I had and if you saw me walking up and down the stairs--you would totally laugh at me! So, here's to hoping that all this pain will pay off!

Have any of you done or know anyone who has done the 30 Day Shred? I'd love to hear your thoughts and/or results if you have!

I've seen other bloggers posting about this workout before. I really need to work out but this totally looks like it'd kick my butt!

I started doing it a few months ago but stopped at about day 10. I'm back on it though- today will be day 5. I'm glad to be doing it again as I'm in BAD shape these days. :( I can definitely tell that I got more out of shape during those months in between the first go at it and now. But I'm enthusiastic and looking forward to losing some of these pounds that have crept on.

    Good luck to you!

I love this workout. It kicks my butt. I actually just did it this morning! The 20 minutes a day is so worth it!

This absolutely worked for me! I did this video program back in January and lost about 12 pounds - my goal. I eventually stopped doing it though, because I hate working out and just wanted to lose the weight, LOL!
I am actually thinking about starting again because I am gaining weight again.
And yes, after my first day or two I literally cold not walk LOL!

That is awesome that you are doing the DVD. It will get easier as time goes on. Good Luck.

I did it about 5 days a week for 2 weeks then had surgery and had to take 2 months off. Then, I got pregnant so no more 30 DS since then.

It did get a little easier the second week but then I had to quit. So, I guess I'm not much help! haha

I do remember the shaky legs and muscle twitches all over though. :)

    Keep up the good work.

I tried the 30 Day Shred when I saw it on my digital cable and it KICKED my butt!!! It is a great workout, but I was yelling at Jillian the entire time... I think I need to get back on it - I'm sure its effective if you stick to it (that seems to be my problem).

I couldn't decide whether to buy 30 day shred or No more trouble zones but ended with her No more trouble zones dvd. It is a great workout and maybe I will try the 30 day shred but I will stick with the one I have.

Good luck and keep it up!!!!

Love this video!!!! It is by far my favorite video from her. I have only ever made it to the second session...I don't think I'll ever get to the third one. :) It has made such a huge difference, and in such a short amount of time too. I actually got tone and lost weight! I was so excited, that after about a week of doing her video, I called my husband at work and told him that for the first time my inner thighs do not touch when I stand up straight. He thought I was wierd, but that is a HUGE accomplishment for me that I've never experienced with other workout videos.

I have the dvd. I'd love to actually WANT to do this workout but a couple of things prevent me.

#1 I find it boring. Probably due to the lack of good music. Also the canned interaction between Jillian and her helpers just grates on me.

#2 My knees. The constant rotation between getting on the floor and standing up really bothers my knees. Now, I admit, that's probably because of my age and all but it's a downer for me.

I much prefer Chalene Johnson and Turbo Jam.

Yes, I've done it. And it works. I think Jillian Michaels is indeed the most merciless trainer out there. I am not currently doing it, but I loved that I could work out so hard in such a short period of time though I usually felt dead after the workout. It did get easier. I highly recommend this DVD.

LOL! I haven't tried it but have heard good things. I hope you continue to fill us on in your progress! Maybe you'll talk me into getting it... Or not. =)

LOL! I am laughing so hard right now. I've been there. Not with this workout but others. And as most exercise regimens I did not stick to it. I'm so lazy! But, hey, if it will make my thighs not touch... I'm all in! Just may have to go out and get this one.

I'm so glad that you are working so hard on yourself, and no offense to you, but I cannot stand Jillian Michaels! I am so sick of seeing her EVERYWHERE. It is like the show (which I don't watch) is all about HER, and not those poor overweight people trying to lose the weight... Just my opinion.
BUT... GOOD FOR YOU for sticking to your plan!!
