Britax Marathon CS Car Seat Review {Giveaway}
When it was time for Lucas to transition from an infant car seat to a toddler car seat, I knew that I wanted a Britax. No, they are not the cheapest out there, but they are top-rated, SAFE car seats. I just trust Britax to make a superior car seat and you can't put a price on safety. You just can't. At that time, we purchased a Britax Boulevard and it was the right choice. It is so comfy and is loaded with safety features! Recently, I got the chance to test out one of Britax's newest car seats--the Marathon CS {pictured below}.

The Britax Marathon CS Convertible Car Seat is basically a revamped version of the original Marathon. It includes all the same great safety features of the Marathon with the added Click & Safe Snug Harness Indicator, which audibly {with a "click"} lets you know when the harness is secure. The Marathon CS is used rear-facing from 5-35 lbs. and forward-facing from 1 year & 20, up to 65 lbs. This is a huge bonus because it will last for years!

Comfort-wise, the Marathon CS rocks! It sits high up and easily reclines in both the rear or forward facing position. The car seat has a very plush cover and belly pad. Total luxury for the kiddos while still remaining practical for parents since the cover comes off for easy wash. Not to mention that installation is a breeze. It takes about 5-10 minutes to install using the push-button LATCH system. Mike installed it in 5 minutes, but he is very used to doing it. It might take a newbie 10 minutes the first time, but after that it's easy peasy. We have an SUV so there is definitely enough room for the Marathon CS, but I think it would even fit well in smaller cars since it has a small, contoured base that doesn't take up much space at all. I still recommend that you first try it out in your car at the store to make sure before you buy!

Let's talk about what really matters though--safety. The Marathon CS features side impact protection that distributes crash forces, shields from vehicle intrusion, and contains the head, neck, and body. Just check out the features:
Want It: The Britax Marathon CS can be purchased at major retailers and the suggested retail price is $299.99.

- HUGS™ (Harness Ultra Guard System) reduces forward head movement and cushions the chest in the event of impact
- High Density Comfort Foam provides an extra layer of padding to gently cushion the child
- Energy-Absorbing Foam Liner (EPS) absorbs and distributes crash forces
- Patented, Energy-Absorbing Versa-Tether with staged-release tether webbing, anchors the top of the child seat at two points to minimize forward movement in a crash
- Five-Point Harness makes contact with the strongest parts of the body
Want It: The Britax Marathon CS can be purchased at major retailers and the suggested retail price is $299.99.

I have 2 favorite features. I love the small base that allows for a tight fit in all types of seats, and I love that the car seat has the option to recline. My car has tilted back seats that make car seat installation a challenge, and I think these options together will allow the child seat to fit perfectly!! I would choose the Emma, so my little girl has something girly! She has all hand me downs form her brother!

Well of course my favorite feature has to do with safety, I like the side impact protection the marathon cs offers. My favorite pattern is Emma.

I like the Emma but would be more than happy with any of the options. I like many of the aspects of the Marathon CS such as the belly belt, Click & Safe Harness, side impact, etc. Way cool car seat!

I would choose the gray matrix fabric and I LOVE the tummy pad and the 5 point harness! Safety is so important in the car.

I would choose the Matrix because it would match the interior of our van. My fave feature is the side impact protection.
Thanks for the chance.

I like Crimson. I love how they can tell the viewer exactly what they need with the children's stat's put in there. Great color choices too.

I love the whole seat! I especially love the Energy Absorbing Foam Liner and the small base so that it will fit more comfortably in most cars.

i'd pick matrix. I like that it will go to 65 lbs. That is such a great feature esp for us that have big tall kids that can outgrow other seats quickly
September 16, 2009 10:41 PM
I would choose the Matrix color and I like that the Harness Holders keep the straps out of the way when you are putting your child in the seat.
