Here Comes Santa Blog Party Giveaway! Classic Toys Make a Comeback This Holiday with Babalu
There are certain toys that have been the IT or HOT toys for a lifetime. They don't get discarded for the next best thing. Felt storyboards, building blocks, puzzles, and books--they will always be loved and played with by children around the world. If you are looking for some great classic toys for the holidays this year, you should check out Babalu, Inc. Not only do they offer wonderful toys that kids will LOVE, but they are also affordable--most priced under $25 and many even under $20.

Babalu sent Lucas the FeltTales Heroes to the Rescue Storyboard for me to review. A felt storyboard is such a wonderful way to let children use their imaginations and the FeltTales line has some great features. I love the carrying handle and included pouch that holds all the felt pieces--this makes it perfect for travel! There's also a story starter on the back of every FeltTales story board, which gives children a little help if needed. They also come with a ton of felt pieces--each of the FeltTales Storyboards come with at least 19 moveable felt pieces and a different theme, varying from princesses to dinosaurs. Lucas is really into firetrucks so the Heroes to the Rescue set is right up his alley. He will sit at our kitchen table and play with the set while I cook dinner or do some chores.

In June 2009, Babalu acquired WJ Fantasy, a 25-year-old toy company specializing in a distinctive selection of nesting blocks, toys, advent calendars and children’s books. Babalu also sent Lucas the WJ Fantasy Do Re Mi Musical Building Blocks for me to review.

Basically, the top of each of these 8 musical blocks is fitted with a metal bar that, when struck with the mallet provided, plays as a xylophone. The blocks themselves are beautifully illustrated with the full "C" scale, instruments, and more. The blocks even come with an accompanying songbook, which teaches children to play classic songs like Mary Had a Little Lamb, Row Your Boat, and more. They all neatly nest within one another and store away in the included case. These are so awesome and have been a HUGE hit at home! To be honest, these blocks alone inspired me to start a weekly, dedicated "music time" with Lucas. We get these blocks and some other instruments out, play songs and have a ton of FUN!

Want It: FeltTales are great for ages 3+, and each has a MSRP of $19.95. The Do-Re-Mi Musical Building Blocks retail for $24.95.

The featured product{s} in this post were provided to me free of charge by the manufacturer or pr company representing the company. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and not influenced in any way by anyone. Please refer to this site's Terms of Use for more information.

Hmm... lots of choices... I think I would pick the riding school board from babalu. We don't have a toy like it and I can imagine lots of imagination at work! hansen33@cox.net
