HOT Leapfrog Toys: The Zippity Learning System & My Pal Scout {Here Comes Santa Giveaway!}

My favorite type of toy to buy for Lucas is one that teaches while he is having FUN. No better way to learn. That's why Leapfrog is one of my favorite toy companies to buy from. We have been Leapfrog fans and customers since Lucas was born and we bought him his first Tad Singing ABC Doll. Now, we have a collection of beloved Leapfrog toys and dvds! Recently, I had the opportunity to test out two brand new Leapfrog toys--the Zippity Learning System and My Pal Scout that I am very excited to tell you about today.
The Zippity Learning System is a new, active gaming system by Leapfrog that melds learning and movement with the Playhouse Disney characters that kids already love--Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, My Friends Tigger & Pooh, Little Einsteins and Handy Manny. Plus, you can get additional games for the Zippity like Cars and Disney Princess.
Basically, the Zippity Learning System comes with an interactive mat and bopper {or joystick}. Kids stand on the mat and choose a game to play and either level 1 or 2 {depending on skill level}. Then the FUN and LEARNING begins! Kids are asked to move, dance, and jump on the mat or move the bopper around to play the games. Skills learned include numbers, math, Spanish, colors, music, shapes, letters, and much more. The Zippity is a wonderful way to get kids up and moving AND involve them in the learning process! Plus, a built-in Learning Path lets parents see the skills their child is exploring as they play, or parents can create a personal LeapFrog Learning Path online for more in-depth insights and learning ideas.
The Zippity is recommended for kids ages 3 to 5 years old. Lucas is just a little over 2 years old so the Zippity is a bit advanced for him right now. However, even at 2, Lucas was able to understand how the Zippity works, but obviously we will need to wait a bit before he can really get into the games. Can't wait for that though!
What's funny is that when we received My Pal Scout, I thought that Lucas would be too OLD for him. Boy, was I wrong. I would honestly say that Scout is one of my all time favorite toys that Lucas owns. Ever. In a couple of weeks, I will be compiling a Hottest Toys List and I will go ahead and tell you that Scout is on that list! Man. This little guy is awesome! Of course, Scout has a girl buddy too--My Pal Violet, which I assume is just as awesome as Scout.
Scout is an interactive stuffed animal unlike any other I have seen before. He connects to the computer with the included USB so you can customize the music and personalize the learning with your child's name and favorite food, animal and color. Scout comes with 5 pre-loaded songs, or you can select and download your choice of learning tunes and lullabies from an online list of 30 songs. Press a paw to play music, learning songs or games.

- Daily routines
- Early number sense
- Feelings and emotions
- Animals
What's unique about Scout is that he actually incorporates your child's name, favorite foods, favorite animals, and favorite colors into the songs, which is a real SURPRISE and SO FUN for kids. When we received Scout, I hooked him up to the computer and got him set up within minutes. I smiled when I pressed his paw and Scout said, "Hi Lucas". I was blown away when I pressed his paw again and he started singing a song about Lucas--incorporating all of his favorite things--the color red, ice cream, and monkeys. The songs say his name and one song even spells it. It is SO COOL! Words can't express how much Lucas loves Scout. He is Lucas' best buddy. He goes to bed with Lucas. Eats breakfast with Lucas. Dances with Lucas. Here they are hiding under a chair cushion together LOL.
It is honestly one of the cutest things I have ever seen. Run do not walk to pick up Scout or Violet for your child!
