Triumph Advance™ LX Convertible Car Seat Review & Giveaway

Friday, November 13, 2009 Posted by Jolly Mom

Many families {including my own} are facing financial struggles right now and have to live on tight budgets. However, as moms--we want the best for our babies. One area that none of us want to compromise on is safety. The truth is that I was under the impression that a car seat had to be expensive to be safe, but I recently discovered that is not necessarily true. Priced around $130, the Triumph Advance™ LX Convertible Car Seat is budget friendly and was actually one of the top rated convertible car seats for performance and price by Consumer Reports! Evenflo sent me the Triumph Advance™ LX Convertible Car Seat and I am also very impressed.

Check out the features:
  • Rear Facing for infants 5 to 35 lbs.
  • Forward Facing for infants 20 to 50 lbs.
  • Infinite Slide Harness adjustment system
  • Removable body and infant head support pillows
  • Multi-position ReclineRight™ base
  • Exclusive! TensionRight™ knob tightens harness easily from the side
  • EPP, energy absorbing foam liner
  • Fold-down cup holder for easy access to drinks and folds out of the way when not in use
  • Removable, washable pads
  • 2 buckle strap positions accommodate growing child
  • Meets or exceeds all applicable federal safety standards
  • Side Impact Tested
Mike {my husband} is the official car seat installer in our home and he told me that it was pretty easy to install--keep in mind that he is pretty used to doing it though. However, he did point out that the car seat is really large and might be a bit too heavy for parents switching the seat from car to car. At the price though, it may be financially feasible for some families to buy two and not have to worry about transferring the car seat back and forth. The Triumph Advance™ LX Convertible Car Seat has a few features that really blew me away though. For example, the Infinite Slide Harness adjustment system is awesome! It allows you to adjust the harness just by moving it up and down rather than going through the back of the car seat like many other brands and models. The TensionRight knob on the side is also a huge plus--it allows you to tighten the harness just by turning the large knob on the side. I also like the two buckle strap positions--one for infants and another for toddlers--that allow for a more comfortable and custom fit. Although the fold down cup holder could stand to be a little sturdier, it is a really nice feature to have and one that neither of my expensive car seats has. Lucas is very comfortable riding in this car seat as well. He's a big kid and I think this is where the size of the car seat is a positive. It makes for a comfy ride! Right now, the weather is cold so I am not sure how the material will do during the hot and humid Summer months here in Georgia, but I can tell you that the fabric is really soft and adds to Lucas' comfort level.

All in all, I have to say that the Triumph Advance™ LX Convertible Car Seat offers parents an excellent value! Being that it can be used up to 50 pounds in the forward facing position and 35 pounds in the rear facing position, it is going to last several years and may very well be the only car seat that you'll need to buy.

Want It: Triumph Advance™ LX Convertible Car Seat retails for around $130 {depending on pattern and place of purchase} and can be purchased at various retailers across the country. For more info on where to buy, please visit Evenflo.com.

This contest is closed. Congratulations to the winner, Peggy!

My favorite pattern would be the median and I like that it is versatile for both infants and toddlers so you can continue to use it throughout the years.
    Thanks for the chance!!

I would love the Cocoa Fizz pattern and my favorite feature is that it meets or exceeds all applicable federal safety standards.
