Welcome to the K'NEX Sesame Street Neighborhood! Buildling Sets for Pre-schoolers {Review}

Wednesday, November 25, 2009 Posted by Jolly Mom

Thanks to Team Mom, we recently had the opportunity to try out K'NEX's new line of building blocks--Sesame Street Neighborhood Collection Building Sets. Lucas had never tried K'NEX before, but I have been meaning to buy him a set for a while because he--as most kids do--loves building blocks. We received the Police Station Building Set, which in Lucas' eyes was a winner before it even came out of the box. I mean--Elmo, building blocks, and police stuff all in one toy? Life is sweet {lol}.

The set comes with over 40 pieces, including Elmo and Ernie. You also get a Play and Learn activity sheet filled with fun, educational parent/child activities and additional building ideas is also included. Out of all the building blocks that Lucas has, these have to be my favorite so far. I love that they are small enough to really get creative with them, but big enough for Lucas' small hands to confidently play with. Also, I love how the set has moving parts--like windows and signs. It helps the set be even more interactive and promotes imaginative play. For instance, at one point while Lucas was playing with the set--I sat next to him and began to open and close the police station windows. He got a kick out of that and immediately brought Elmo over and stood him by the window. He would open the window and say HELLO ELMO. and then close it and say BYE BYE ELMO. Very cute! Another thing Lucas enjoyed was being able to dress Elmo and Ernie. He kept putting the police hat on and then taking it off LOL. He LOVED it!

There are several K'NEX Sesame Street Neighborhood Buildling Sets available: 1-2-3 Brownstone, Police Station, Ice Cream Truck and Police Car each featuring either Elmo & Ernie or Elmo & Cookie Monster.

    These are great blocks for little hands and I love the Sesame Street themed toys. I love the pictures of Lucas playing - he really seems to like these.
