The holidays are here and to celebrate, one of my favorite companies--Coca-Cola is giving away 50 video game prizes each day on My Coke Rewards in the “Give the Gift of Gaming Holiday Instant Win” game. They are giving away TWO new Xbox 360 Entertainment Systems per DAY and TWO video games per HOUR! Winners can choose between Guitar Hero 5 or DJ Hero.
You can enter the codes found on multipacks of Coke up to 2 times each day for instant win entries, so go check it out and good luck!

We always make sure we get a couple of gifts every year for a family who may be in need, maybe a neighbor whose kids and grandkids all live out of state, and we ALWAYS make treats for the neighbors, friends, and (starting last year) random people we see when we take a drive & the kids get to say "STOP!" and we'll hand over something store brought (cookies type of thing, because homemade makes people give you a funny look, lol - whatever happened to trust? ;)

We are unable to spend money on Christmas this year so we are just taking time to spend the holidays with family.
We are going to take some things that are dear to us and that are a part of our lives and give them to others. We are beginning to leave a legacy to our children.
Things like Heirlooms that have been passed down from grandparents, they will now go to our children along.
Sometimes it is just the thing you have to go back to when you cannot afford the hustle of the Christmas Holiday.

We spread Holiday Cheer every year.
Every year we take a donation to the Battered Women's and Children's Home. We also bake quick breads of various types and make candy and take it to our friends, neighbors, teachers, etc. We usually also choose an angel from the tree at the mall to make a child's Christmas happier. Whether it is a toy or much needed items they ask for and than we add a little "extra". This year we weren't able to do that due to our current unemployment so we have just asked our kids to find out how the school is helping unfortunate families. We have donated canned goods so other families can have a better Christmas w/ a nice meal. Not as much but it was still something.

We bought some cute, sturdy Christmas boxes with lids, and we've been baking to fill them up to give to all of our neighbors. We've made two different types of fudge, cinnamon raisin oatmeal cookies, chocolate chip cookies, fudge crumble, chocolate chocolate chip cupcakes, and gingerbread teddy bears.

This year, we have purchased a gift from the Thanks in Giving catalog (St. Jude's Hospital), given to The Marines Toys for Tots, gave to the SPCA (one of my favorite charities), also donated to two charities that support our troops here and deployed, and donated to the Salvation Army.
It really wasn't a lot of money, but they are all charities that mean a lot to me.

I am taking gifts to some men in a home for the mentally disabled. They have nothing and no help or hope-it's so sad!
