Dirt Devil Gator Series Hand Vacuum {Review}

Monday, December 07, 2009 Posted by Piera Jolly

If you are looking for a small lightweight hand-vac that you can whip around the house with, then Dirt Devil--as always--has a vacuum for you. We all know the Dirt Devil brand that has been synonymous with vacuum cleaners for ages. Dirt Devil recently introduced a new line of hand vacuums called The Gator Series.

Dirt Devil sent me the Gator 10.8 volt model to review, which is the lowest powered unit they offer. Obviously, with higher voltage comes more power and more suction. However, this little hand vac packs quite a punch and easily picks up the little messes that inevitably make their way into my home on a daily basis. I use it in the kitchen to pick up spilled flour, sugar, crumbs, and the constant stream of food bit that Lucas drops around the house {lol}. The 10.8 volt model is definitely a basic hand-vac, but it does have a couple of cool features. The nose of the vacuum can slide out further to provide a crevice tool (though it is not very long). And the whole front flips up to empty the dirt canister. It’s not going to clean up the big messes, but for quick smaller messes--which with a 2 year old and a dog can be plenty--it does a good job.

See It In Action:

Features:
* Gator Easy Opening Dirt Cup
* Built-In Crevice Tool
* 10.8 Volts
* Cordless
* Bagless Design
* Lightweight - Easy to Carry

Included Accessories:
* Built-in crevice tool
* Charger

Want It: The Gator 10.8 Volt Model retails for $31.99 and can be purchased online and at Target.

    You can't go too wrong spending only $32. The only gripe I have of this and most other hand vacs are the batter life. However, the Gator seems very stylish and cheap - so, I can't complain too much.
