One of the Simple Pleasures in Life: Homemade White Bread {Bread Machine Recipe}

There are few things in this world that I would rather eat than a warm piece of bread slathered in some butter. So bad for my thighs, but so delicious. We normally try to stick to wheat bread, but every once in a while it is nice to enjoy a loaf of white bread. This recipe is very simple, but it makes amazing bread. The exterior is crusty, but the interior is soft and airy.
Ingredients
1 cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
3 tablespoons white sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons sea salt {or regular salt}
3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
3 cups bread flour
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
Directions
1. Place water, sugar, salt, oil, bread flour and yeast into bread machine. Follow your machine's instructions on which order to put the ingredients in.
2. Bake on white bread setting .
3. Channel your inner control and let the bread cool for a few minutes before slicing.

This looks like such a simple recipe and very simliar to another one I use. Can you tell me if this is for 1.5lb loaf or 2lb? I think I might have to try this tomorrow to go with the smoked ham I'm making.
Yum!

Wow! I really love wheat bread. Good thing my wife knows how to make one. If I have more free time, I will surely study how to make one. Thanks for the post!

This is almost the exact recipe I make, but I throw in a bit of potato flour and that makes it SO moist.
I'm with you, though, there is nothing as comforting as warm bread with delicious butter!!
Oh, my poor thighs... just thinking about it added 2 inches!
