Spring Bash! Hottest Handbags for Spring at Handbag Heaven: Review and Giveaway!

Spring Bash! Hottest Handbags for Spring at Handbag Heaven: Review and Giveaway!

You guys already know this. I am a handbag addict. Yes, I love bags. They are more than an accessory to me. A great handbag makes an outfit! So, naturally, I was drawn to an online store called Handbag Heaven!

About Handbag Heaven:
Handbag Heaven is a leader in designer-inspired purses and handbags online! They pride themselves in offering the widest selection of quality, fashionable handbags at prices that you can afford. Whether you are looking for a special occasion clutch, a neutral everyday shoulder bag, or a bold statement piece, Handbag Heaven is sure to please.

Handbag Heaven very generously sent me the Broad Ripple Oversized Satchel in black to try out (pictured left in white). This is a really beautiful bag with modern, trendy details! It has brass studs, contrast stitching, and gorgeous woven handles. Inside, it has one large zippered pocket and two open pockets perfect for cell phones, glasses, etc. It also has a zippered pocket on the front that not only looks cool, but is also functional. This is an oversized handbag that will even fit your laptop and can also double as a diaper bag! I am actually using it as a diaper bag right now and use a diaper caddy inside to keep everything organized. I have already gotten several compliments on this bag from total strangers! All of these features and the bag retails for $44.96 and is on sale right now for $40.46 (sale ends today 3/31)!

Here are some pictures of the bag and you can see how I've been using it as a diaper bag:

What I love about Handbag Heaven is that they offer quality, fashion, and affordability! It really is not worth it to spend a lot of money on a trendy bag when next year, the fashion world will have moved on. You'll want the new "it" bag and last years will be a waste. At Handbag Heaven, you can keep up with the latest trends, get a quality bag, and not break the bank! Handbag Heaven also offers free shipping when you spend over $50 and they have a 100% money back guarantee! So, really you have nothing to lose and a whole lot of fashion to gain!

Here are some of my favorite picks from Handbag Heaven for Spring!

You Can Help Save the Seals and Fight Against Animal Cruelty with Just One Click!

You Can Help Save the Seals and Fight Against Animal Cruelty with Just One Click!

I recently became aware of the atrocities that are being committed by the Canadian Commercial Seal Hunt. LUSH, an awesome company that stands by their principles, is campaigning to stop this mass slaughter of these seals and they need our help!

About the Canadian Commercial Seal Hunt (from the LUSH website):

This year alone more than 338,200 seals will be killed (many of which are only a couple of weeks old), in the largest mass slaughter of marine mammals in the world. Governments around the globe, including the US, have spoken out against Canada's seal hunt. The seal hunt is essentially government sanctioned cruelty to animals. Recent polls show that nearly 69% of Canadians and nearly 80% of Americans are opposed to the seal hunt. Yet, the government continues to spend millions of Canadian taxpayers dollars to help support it.

Facts about the Canadian Commercial Seal Hunt (from the LUSH website):
  • LUSH is not campaigning against the sealers themselves or aboriginals who depend upon it for their livelihood and survival. We are against the inhumane way the seals are killed for limited commercial gain.
  • The slaughter of seals is cruel: A post mortem survey has shown that 42% of seal pups are skinned alive (about 95% of the seals slaughtered are babies less than 4 weeks old).
  • It is a threat to the survival of the species and the fragile balance of the North Atlantic ecosystem: In the last four years alone, over a million harp seals have been killed.
  • The survival of cod is not threatened by seals: After decades of mismanagement and the resulting collapse of the East Coast cod industry, the Canadian government has declared war on the seals in hopes that massive seal kills will bring back the cod and keep their disgruntled fishermen working. In fact, cod is not a major food source of the harp and hood seal.
  • The majority of Canadians and millions of people around the world are opposing Canada's Commercial Seal Hunt.

How We Can Help:
  1. Sign the online petition. This is the easiest way to help-it just takes a few seconds!
  2. Stop by your local LUSH store and sign the postcard.
  3. Purchase either the First Swim Bubble Bar (100% of the proceeds go to Sea Shephard) or the Charity Pot Body Lotion (100% of the proceeds goes directly into a charitable fund to support animal rights, environmental protection and humanitarian concerns).

Join Me at Living in HD

Join Me at Living in HD

I wanted to tell you guys about an awesome new site, called Living in HD from Panasonic. The site is an online community of people sharing their real life experiences and knowledge of technology to help others use it more creatively. Basically, it's a place to learn about HD from real people and to share your own experiences, knowledge, and opinions. Panasonic knows that us modern mommas are super savvy and resourceful so they are reaching out to YOU to join! I have to say I love a company that reaches out to moms!

High definition is becoming a hot technology that is quickly becoming a part of all of our homes. The number of HD channels on TV is growing and Blu-Ray DVD is becoming the norm. If you haven't seen HD, then you are so missing out. The picture and sound is better than the regular DVD that most of us are used to seeing. The picture is so clear that it feels like you are watching it LIVE in person. This new technology allows us to do far more than just watch television though and that's where Living in HD comes in. At the site, you'll find all sorts of cool tips from other members! For example, learn how to ensure your TV is safely mounted on the wall or innovative ways to store and share your children's artwork (video below).

Needless to say, my hubby is drooling over this site and Panasonic's line of HD products. He is ecstatic that I am talking about something that he can really get into as well. But trust me when I tell you, this technology is not just for the men in our lives anymore, it's for the whole family! I highly recommend checking out Living in HD! You'll find me over there as Jolly Mom! Not to mention that you can apply to become an LiHD Family and if chosen, Panasonic will outfit your home with HD products!! If you’re interested in becoming a LiHD family and receiving a free suite of Panasonic HD products, click here for more details. So, as Panasonic would say: Come. Play. Learn. Enjoy!

Spring Bash! Mineral Secrets Makeup Review and Giveaway! (3 Winners)

Spring Bash! Mineral Secrets Makeup Review and Giveaway! (3 Winners)

If I could go without makeup, I honestly would.-especially in the Spring and Summer. Too bad I wasn't born with good skin though! Here in Georgia, the only difference between Spring and Summer is roasted and broiled. Seriously, you have to keep your makeup light unless you want it to literally melt off! That's why mineral makeup is so awesome during the warmer months. Mineral makeup is really light and gives you a totally natural finish without the caked on makeup look and feel! When Mineral Secrets approached me about reviewing their makeup, of course I said yes!

About Mineral Secrets:
Mineral Secrets' mineral makeup is a light, non-shiny cosmetic. Originally designed for people with highly sensitive skin types, Mineral Secrets makeup does not irritate skin conditions like rosacea, acne or post laser skin. Mineral Secrets' botanical and aromatherapy enriched mineral bases not only conceal redness, uneven skin tone and blemishes all day long, but will actually improve your skin's overall look and feel with the first application!

I received the Multi-task Mineral Starter Kit and the 6 Piece Starter Brush Set to try out. The makeup brush set comes with a powder brush, eye shadow brush, an angled blush brush, eye smudge brush, sponge brush, and an eye liner brush. All of the brushes besides the sponge brush and eye liner brush are made of either pony or goat hair. They come in an awesome storage case small enough to fit in your purse or diaper bag. The brushes are great quality, which is really important since a flawless finish hinges on good brushes. So far, the brushes have not shed, which is more than I can say for the brushes I bought about a year ago.

The Multi-task Mineral Starter Kit comes with Ultra Sensitive Multi Task, two Ultra Sensitive Mineral Bases, and a Kabuki brush. All Mineral Secrets makeup is free of perfumes, parabens, fillers, dyes, and never tested on animals. They are also made with aromatic botanicals that benefit your skin.

Botanicals and Their Benefits:

  • Lavender - Normalizes any skin type and stimulates cellular regeneration
  • Sandalwood - Anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, antiseptic and anti-aging
  • Geranium - Calming, refreshing, mildly tonic and astringent
  • Ylang Ylang - Softens, smoothes, balances skin and reduces oiliness
  • Patchouli - Decongestive, astringent, reduces redness
  • Cedarwood - Sedative, astringent properties; reduces skin eruptions and itchiness
  • Palmarosa - Immediately calms and refreshes skin; strong anti-aging properties
  • Green Tea Extract- Rich in anti-oxidants, reduces under eye puffiness, antibacterial
After trying out the set, I am SO impressed with Mineral Secrets. Some mineral makeup will actually make your skin kind of burn or itch, but this makeup does not do that at all. Also, I love that the base is non-shiny because again some mineral makeup on the market leaves a shiny finish, which is not good for someone who has oily skin like me. Mineral Secrets gives you a totally matte finish and conceals any redness, blemishes, or uneven skin tone. Mineral Secrets also has natural sun protection built in so there is no need for a separate sun screen!

The Ultra Sensitive Multi Task can be used wet or dry as eye shadow, eye liner, lipstick, blush and even to color your clear nail polish! My favorite thing though is that at the end of the day, when I take my makeup OFF, my skin is RADIANT and all one color-no redness or uneven skin tone! This has to be because of the botanicals that actually improve your skin! Totally amazing!

Another cool benefit of buying Mineral Secrets is that they offer you free access to their licensed aestheticians! They have a toll-free customer service line staffed by knowledgeable experts committed to helping customers find the right products. That is so helpful and really sets Mineral Secrets apart from other cosmetics companies.

Want It: Mineral Secrets can be purchased online directly from the company website.

This giveaway is closed. Congratulations to the winners: Marin, jemscout425, and lilyk! Winners have been emailed and have 48 hours to contact me.

Orange Lake Resort Review Part Three: What To Do In The Area

Orange Lake Resort Review Part Three: What To Do In The Area

So, we're back from Orlando! We've been back since last Sunday, but it's been crazy trying to get everything done since we've been back. We had an amazing time and we really did not want to come back home to reality.

Today, I wanted to tell you guys about what there is to do outside of the resort. There really is so much-it is the perfect vacation spot for families! This is theme park heaven-pretty much every theme park you can imagine is within a short drive away!

Theme Parks:
  • Walt Disney World Area: Magic Kingdom® Park, Epcot® Park, Soarin'TM, Disney Hollywood Studios™, Disney's Animal Kingdom® Park, Disney's Typhoon Lagoon® Water Park.
  • Disney Wide World of Sports (5 MI)
  • Downtown Disney Area (7 MI)
  • Universal Orlando Theme Parks (17 MI)
  • SeaWorld Orlando (13 MI)
  • Discovery Cove (13 MI)
  • Aquatica Water Park (13 MI)
  • Wet n' Wild (17 MI)
Other Fun Stuff To Do:
  • Orlando Premium Factory Outlet (10 MI)
  • Medieval Times Dinner Show & Tournament (11 MI)
  • Lake Buena Vista Factory Outlets (11 MI)
  • Gatorland (16 MI)
  • Busch Gardens Tampa (63 MI)
  • Kennedy Space Center (73 MI)
  • Skycoaster
  • Kissimmee rodeo
  • WonderWorks
  • Cirque du Soleil®
  • Aiguille Indoor Rock Climbing Center
  • Sky Venture
Honestly, it is so not worth it to stay in a hotel or resort inside of Disney. It is SO much more expensive and you don't even get the great benefits of being in a villa that has all the comforts of home. Through Pilar Morales, you can get a 2 bedroom, 2 bath Villa with a full kitchen, living room, dining room, porch, and all sorts of fun stuff to do for free right at the resort for $1,050.00 for a whole week. With Disney just a few miles away, you can still get to the parks within minutes, enjoy the day, and then come back to your great Villa. Way cheaper and also more comfortable!

Staying at a Timeshare Resort:
I did want to talk about one thing. I received a couple of emails about what it is like staying at a timeshare resort. I read the Trip Advisor reviews too and there are many people on there that were bothered because Orange Lake Resort will try to sell you a timeshare. Basically, they invite you to a presentation. If you say yes, then prepare for a hard sell. Saying yes to the presentation has its perks though. First, they give you a small breakfast. Second, they will pay you for your time. We went because I wanted to be able to tell you guys about the experience and two I never turn down free money! They paid us $70 for 2 hours of our time. Everyone we encountered (and I say everyone because they send several people to "survey" you after you tell them you are not interested in buying-really it's more people trying to sell you a timeshare) was nice besides the last lady. We just got up and told her "No, thank you" and then walked out.

Now, some of the complaints on Trip Advisor come from people that say they were constantly called on the phone and asked to go. Since I read this before hand, I actually unplugged our phone in the Villa as soon as we got there. You really shouldn't use it anyways because they will charge you to make any calls outside of Kissimmee. Anyways, we were not bothered at all-probably because our phone was off the hook. When we decided that we would go, I connected our phone and they did call us. We said yes we would go and that was that. After the presentation, we did not receive any calls at all from them. It really is different when you go through an owner though. Even the presentation is different-it is shorter. Either way, you don't have to go. I would imagine all timeshare resorts do the same thing-my parents and I stayed at one many years ago in Cancun and they did the same thing to my parents. If anyone has any questions about that, please feel free to email Pilar or me. And, remember this is Orange Lake Resort who invites you to their timeshare presentation NOT Pilar. She is a timeshare owner-she owns more than two dozen timeshares, which is how she is able to get you these amazing rates!

Also, I want to publicly thank Pilar Morales for this amazing review opportunity! You guys should know that she is one of the sweetest people ever! She was so attentive and truly just wanted us to have a good time. She even bought Lucas a gift right before we left!

To contact Pilar Morales for more information, please email her at psmvacations@aol.com or visit her blog, PSM Vacations. You can also call her directly at (786) 294-8731.

Good Green Fun: Green Toys Cookware & Dining Set Review

Good Green Fun: Green Toys Cookware & Dining Set Review

Lucas' big Christmas gift last year was a kitchen. He just LOVES to "cook"! Naturally, we also got him some play dishes, pots and pans, etc. Well, since Christmas we have gone through TWO sets of pots and pans! They all broke...every piece. They weren't cheap either-each set cost me around $20. Of course, they were made of cheap plastic material and who knows what kind of nasty chemicals were in it. Honestly, it is my own fault because there are superior alternatives out there, you just have to take the time to look for them. When I ran across Green Toys, an eco-friendly toy company and saw their Cookware & Dining Set, I knew I had to know more about the product and the company.

About Green Toys:
Green Toys Inc. makes an awesome line of classic children’s toys constructed from recycled plastic and other environmentally friendly materials. This helps reduce fossil fuel use and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improving the overall health and happiness of the planet.

Green Toys very generously sent me the Cookware & Dining Set to try out. The set comes with four place settings for a total of 27 pieces: blue stock pot and lid, orange skillet, four green dinner plates, four purple bowls, four blue cups and four yellow silverware place settings.

You know, I didn't know what to expect quality wise from a toy made out of recycled milk jugs. I mean, the toys looked awesome on the website, but I had no idea what they would actually be like. I have to say that I was impressed before I even OPENED the box. The set comes in a 100% recyclable box that is so cute and there was no plastic packaging or twist ties at all! I was so surprised when I took the Cookware and Dining Set out. The quality is so amazing and these toys are so extremely durable. I mean I tried to bend the pot to see what would happen and it just would not budge or lose its shape. These are quality toys unlike any other plastic toy I have seen. I really cannot foresee Lucas breaking them because they are that durable. They will last years!

Lucas loves the set so much that we took it with us on vacation. He plays with it every day, many times a day! In fact, last night he took his Green Toys pot and one tea cup to the bath with him-lol. He actually eats out of them too and it is ok because the set actually meets FDA standards for food contact AND they are dishwasher safe!

Most of all, Green Toys are SAFE for our children and good for our planet. They contain no traceable amounts of Phthalates or BPA and have no external coatings so there is no need to worry about lead! Green Toys are all made right here in the good old USA (love that!) in California. And, by made in the USA-I mean that everything is done in California: manufacturing, packaging, assembly, and fulfillment!

Green Toys has several other toys as well that you have to check out. They are also very affordable. The Cookware and Dining Set is $25.00 at Amazon with free shipping!
