$5 Dinner Mom Cookbook Review and Giveaway!

Most of you are probably already familiar with the blog, $5 Dinners. If you're not, then you are sorely missing out on some of the best recipes and money saving advice available on the web! I am so excited that Erin Chase of $5 Dinners has put all of her best advice and recipes into a book called $5 Dinner Mom Cookbook. I was recently sent a copy of the book to review and it is excellent!
This cookbook is not just your typical "cookbook", it is more like a kitchen bible for moms! In it, Erin shares how to become a savvy shopper and get the best deals at the grocery store--including how to use coupons to their fullest potential, understanding coupon policies, the art of stockpiling, and so much more. She even has this neat quiz at the beginning of the book to help you determine what kind of shopper you are. You'll also learn how to save money by learning grocery store marketing strategies so that you can avoid being trapped by them, creating a weekly menu plan, budgeting, and more. All the recipes featured in the book--of course--cost $5 or less to make! Erin even provides a breakdown of how much she paid for each ingredient so you can not only better understand the process, but also get an idea about how much you should be paying for each item. It is chock full of recipes--200 of them--that are easy to make and doable for busy moms. What I really love is that Erin does focus on healthful eating so this isn't a cookbook filled with affordable but unhealthy meals. The recipes are well balanced--including fresh fruits, vegetables, and even whole grains. You can just tell that this is a cookbook written by a mom who just like us wants to feed her family well. I LOVE it!
