BABYBJÖRN Babysitter Balance {Review}

Friday, February 19, 2010 Posted by Jolly Mom

There are so many "baby gear" options out on the market. As a new mom or mom-to-be, it can be hard to figure out what is or isn't essential. Not everything is going to make your life as a mom easier, but there are a few things that every new mom should have. One of them is a bouncy seat. When Lucas was an infant, his bouncy seat was a sanity saver. That's how I was able to shower, do chores, and take Lucas with me around the house even when he was sleeping. It was also his "happy place". It was a comfy, safe spot for the little guy to hang out. He loved it. And so did mommy and daddy.

Recently, BABYBJÖRN sent me the Babysitter Balance to review and it is a wonderful option for new moms. Like all BABYBJÖRN products, the minimalistc design is clean, sleek, and beautiful. Also like all BABYBJÖRN products that I have owned, the Babysitter Balance is functional. It is easy to fold and the lightweight design makes it easy to carry and travel with. The fabric is really soft and comfortable--a must for newborns. Plus, the fabric is machine washable, reversible, and it is guaranteed to be free from any hazardous substances {also available in organic cotton if you prefer}. You will not any need batteries for this bouncy seat. Unlike many bouncy seats, the Babysitter Balance is baby-powered, which puts the baby in control and has the wonderful benefit of developing their motor skills and balance. What I really love about the Babysitter Balance are the three positions it allows babies to lay in: play, rest, and sleep. This is a wonderful feature that Lucas' bouncy seat did not have. The three positions ensure that babies are always comfortable and happy!

See the Babysitter Balance in Action:

Want It: The Babysitter Balance retails for $169.99 and can be purchased at various retailers across the country.

    I tended to rearrange my schedule around the baby's naptime. So the baby was sort of in control of my whole day. And the night for that matter. Makes me sleepy to think about it!

    This is adorable and looks like fun for babies! I'm due with my third baby and will be induced on Wed the 24th. So although I don't have a story about this baby yet, I do about my first. One day I was letting our baby sleep in her bouncy chair. Thankfully I ALWAYS strap them in. She was bouncing away an loving it when all of a sudden she was hanging off the side of the bouncer. This is not to freak everyone out about
    bouncers, because the BabyBjorn babysitter has a much more secure seat belt then the bouncer I am referencing did. Anyway, I think a bouncer is a wonderful thing to have, if it is a good one such as the BabyBjorn Babysitter Balance.

    Needless to say, I could use one...after this above incident, I got rid of the one we previously used! Also, I think bouncers are great for when a mom takes a shower or simply when a baby wants some 'me' time!

    When my son was about 10 mos. old, he began to walk and he would make a cute sound over and over with his tongue and the roof of his month. My husband and I used to laugh and our little boy would laugh too. When we stopped laughing, he would do that sound again to hear us laugh and he'd laugh again. We tried to imitate this sound but never could get it right. I wish we would have recorded it. :-)

    when my son was a baby...i could tip toe and place him in his crib and he'd wake up screaming...however after i nursed if i rolled/plopped him on my bed you name it, he would be asleep in 2 seconds....

    my child has always been in control of me. When he was a baby all he had to do is yell out loud and cry to get my attention. now he's 3, and all he had to do to be in control is to run away and hide when he knows he is in trouble.

    My baby is in control of where she crawls! I'm a big believer in letting crawlers have lots of roaming space and she takes advantage of it!
