Before I started blogging I ran across this really cool online family organizer called Cozi. I fell in love with Cozi back then and then inevitably something happened to knock me off track and I got out of the hang of using it. Now as a blogger--I have been reintroduced to it and my love for Cozi has grown even more. It is still the same easy to use FREE online family organizer that I once loved PLUS some other great features.
If you've never heard of Cozi, here's a little overview. Cozi is basically command central for families. It can help families manage everyone's schedules, track shopping and to do lists, allows family member to share information, and stay in touch. Sounds like it would be a complicated system, right? Not at all. Cozi has a fresh, modern, and streamlined layout that is easy and quick to use.
The heart of Cozi lies in the family calendar. It is color-coded by family member so you can easily see and differentiate everyone's schedules. You are able to view just one family member's schedule or click ALL to see everyone's at once. You can set appointment reminders to be sent to you by text message or email. You can even add internet calendars, school calendars, and sync with Microsoft Outlook. For instance, Cozi has access to all school schedules that are published through Tandem for Schools. Major yearly school events (such as the first and last days of school, school breaks and holidays, early dismissals, and parent-teacher conferences) will be added to your Cozi calendar, and any changes will automatically appear on your calendar. Adding appointments is pretty cool too. You can enter them the traditional way by just double clicking on the date of your appointment and entering all of the information you want. Or, you can use the text box at the bottom of the calendar and use "everyday language". For instance, type "Lunch, 12:00 tomorrow" and Cozi will add the appointment to the correct spot on the calendar. Pretty cool, huh?!
Here you can see an example of that. I typed "All Circus 2/12" and hit enter.
Cozi added it to Friday the 12th and marked it as all three of us attending.
One of my personal favorite Cozi features are the shopping lists. You can have shopping lists for different stores if you're like me and shop for your groceries at a couple of stores. Using it is simple. Just type your shopping list into Cozi and add to it throughout the week as you run across things that you need. When you're ready to head to the grocery store, text your shopping list to your mobile phone {or anyone's mobile phone like your hubby's LOL}. If you forget to text your list, you can actually CALL Cozi's toll free number and have the list read to you!
Other things that Cozi can do for you include:
Create shared to-do lists for anyone in the family. It's like the ULTIMATE "Honey-Do" list LOL.
Organize errands by priority.
Easily create task specific lists.
Send messages via email or text right from Cozi to anyone in the family.
Cozi’s photo collage screensaver finds your family photos and displays them by event or activity, such as vacations and birthday parties, right on your computer desktop.
One of Cozi's newest features is the family journal. I have been testing it out this month and it is really cool. It's quick and so easy to use, which I love.
There are a couple of improvements that I would like made though. Right now you can't add more than one image per journal entry and I would love to be able to add more pictures. And, it would also be cool to be able to add video as well. Other than that, the journal is a great way to quickly jot down memories and share with friends and family.
And, as if all of that wasn't enough---Cozi's Live Simply site is a plethora of information for moms and families. Find advice on getting organized, saving money, dinner ideas, and much more! And, best of all...it is ALL FREE. All of Cozi is FREE. And, it also happens to be pretty awesome too.
