Bumbleride Introduces New Umbrella Stroller: The Flite Review
Bumbleride, one of my favorite stroller brands, has just released a new stroller to their lineup--the Flite. Out of all the strollers that I've tested and/or purchased, the Flite is quite possibly my favorite stroller. I think it offers moms and dads the most versatility and value for their money.
The new Flite is like the ultimate umbrella stroller only better. Much better. It is slim, sleek and built on a lightweight aluminum frame--weighing in at only 13 pounds. However, unlike most umbrella strollers--the Flite has four wheel suspension and larger/wider profile tires. This makes the Flite a cinch to get through tight spaces--giving parents the best in maneuverability! The other difference? Every umbrella stroller I have ever tried feels cheap. The Flite does not. It feels like a full size stroller--substantial and spacious and comfortable--despite its small footprint. The Flite stays true to the excellent quality I have come to expect from Bumbleride.
So, even though the Flite is an umbrella stroller of sorts, it has a ton of features that are not typical to umbrella strollers. First of all, it can be used from infancy and up. Up to 50 pounds, actually. Lucas is almost three years old and weighs almost 35 pounds. He fits into the Flite perfectly! Back to the babies though. The Flite has an adjustable backrest that lays almost completely flat--a great angle for infants. The infant headrest and shoulder pads make the Flite a comfy ride too! In addition, the Flite comes with a car seat adapter and is compatible with many of the most popular infant car seats on the market such as: Graco Snugride, Graco Snugride 32, Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP 30/30, Chicco Keyfit 30, Combi Shuttle, Baby Trend Flex Loc, and the Britax Chaperone.
There is a little bit of a learning curve for folding the stroller, but once you do it a few times you get the hang of it and it is easy and quick! Unfolding is a snap! You can see both folding and unfolding in the video below.
Once folded, the Flite becomes a tiny and compact package. This makes the Flite perfect for travel or for anyone limited on trunk or storage space.
The only things that I wish I could change on the Flite are the canopy and cargo basket. The canopy on the Flite does not block out the sun as much as I'd like--especially after being spoiled by the huge canopy on the Bumbleride Flyer. The cargo basket is a bit small, but most of all--it is hard to reach from the back of the stroller. You really can only get to it from the front. Even with both of these cons taken into consideration though, the Flite is a highly versatile stroller that offers parents so many benefits!
The Flite Features:
-Quick release five point safety harness
-Standard infant headrest and shoulder pads
-Standard car seat adapter
-Dual front and rear wheel suspension
-Carrying handle for easy transport when folded
-Multi-adjustable backrest
-Adjustable footrest
-Cargo basket
-Zip-off canopy portion for maximum sun coverage
-Compatible with Bumbleride Carrycot
-Easy and compact fold
As all Bumbleride strollers, the Flite does not skimp on style. It is modern, sleek, and even a bit sexy as far as strollers go. It comes in five fresh colors--Lava, Ruby, Seagrass, Spice and Vita. Retailing at $249.99, the Flite is not cheap, but it is worth every penny. For more info, visit Bumbleride.com.

I love how small it is when you fold it! As always, I love the cool.. move-able foot rest that Bumble Ride offers.

Well if you're using it up to a 50 pound child the price is really not that bad.

That is one really cool stroller. I am amazed at how versitile it is and the fact that it can hold a car seat.
I wish that it was available when my boys were little.
