Mini Poem: Not Quite MacGyver Scanning the horizon with my binoculars,
I thought I spied the elephant but it wasn't her,
it was a Lioness charging straight my way,
and silly me had taken off my shoes earlier to shake out the grains of this terrane's hard clay.
Do I dare run back to the tent to put them on my feet?
Oh I wish I had time to get mommy's suggestion via an internet tweet.
Well I packed everything I should need into my safari vest,
I'll have to use something from it to defend all of me not just my bullet proofed chest.
I unscrew a lens from my binocular
    and try to focus her,
so needing to start a twig on fire,
that would keep the lioness away,
yet this lens doesn't work because
    it's made only for play.
Mom don't worry I won't make or play with fire,
it's just pretend when I play MacGyver.
Not really quite MacGyver am I,
though as an exploring boy I do try.
I'm going to grow up to be a clever man,
figuring out how to ride the rapids on a boat I make with old Mountain Dew pop cans.
I'll be able to scale the world's mountains high and wide,
using Daddy's barbeque forks I kept hooked to my belt sides.
I'll fish monsters out of the sea,
using a dog leash and a safety pin shaped like an apostrophe.
