Awesome Mother's Day Gift Ideas Plus HUGE SAVINGS at Vivabox! {Coupon Code}
Last year, I reviewed a Vivabox and since Mother's Day is just around the corner; I had to blog about them again because they are truly the perfect gift for the moms in your life! If you missed my review last year, let me explain Vivaboxes. A Vivabox is basically a gift that is experienced by the recipient in two layers. The first is the gift inside the box, which introduces the recipient to the product or theme of the box. The second is the gift card that can be redeemed for their gift selection from a menu of choices. The recipient gets an actual tangible gift inside the box and also gets a gift card to a store or service that relates to the gift inside. For example, last year Vivabox sent me a L'Occitane Experience box, which came loaded with several L'Occitane lotions inside the box and also a gift card that allowed me to choose a full-sized L'Occitane product.
Here's a breakdown of how it works:
Step 1. You {the gift giver} pick a theme from the website. There are all sorts of Vivaboxes--everything from Spa and Coffee boxes to Movie and BBQ boxes. Truly something for everyone--women and men--covering many interests.

Step 2. The recipient gets their box and tries the samples and gifts inside. Depending on the box this could be a gift to try, taste or use and they all relate to the theme of the box.
Step 3. After enjoying the first gift, the recipient visits this website and enters their card number. They will be taken through the redemption process where they choose their final present. This is where the freedom of choice happens.
Recently, Vivabox sent me their Spa Beauty Box to try out and ladies--THIS IS the Mother's Day gift to give this year!
Inside the box, you get:
* 3 EO organic body lotions
* 1 EO organic shower gel
* 1 package of EO organic bath salts
Plus, you also get a Spafinder gift card for a manicure and pedicure at any of the more than 4,000 spas that participate in the Spafinder network! Oh, and the TIP is even included! The Spa Beauty Vivabox is like giving the recipient the gift of TIME. Time to pamper themselves and feel great. Perfect for moms who always give their time to everyone else and often forget about themselves! The Spa Beauty Vivabox is regularly priced at $95, which is very reasonable for a spa gift plus some other goodies too. However, keep reading for a deal that will blow you away!
Vivabox is offering Jolly Mom readers an amazing deal! From now until Mother’s Day you can use the code “mom2010” to receive 20% off any Vivabox. Once that purchase is made, an email will be sent with a top secret discount code giving you access to 40% off another Vivabox! This is a great way to get a Mother's Day gift for your own mom and mother-in-law---maybe even yourself. Visit VivaboxUSA.com to order.
The featured product{s} in this post were provided to me free of charge by the manufacturer or pr company representing the company. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and not influenced in any way by anyone. Please refer to this site's Terms of Use for more information.

Magnesium & Its Role In Good Health: Ancient Minerals {Review and Giveaway}
I am a big believer in natural remedies and supplements. I, myself take homeopathic medicine on a daily basis and call upon them often when Mike, Lucas, or even my dog Aries get sick. While I do consider myself pretty well read when it comes to natural health, I had never really paid much attention to magnesium and its health benefits until a company called Magnetic Clay contacted me about their line of magnesium products called Ancient Minerals.
Below is a little of what I learned from Ancient Minerals about magnesium and its role in the human body.
What is magnesium? It is a mineral widely acknowledged by the scientific and medical community as being essential for several hundred different functions in the body. Magnesium aids the body in making or utilizing protein and similarly, if you don’t have adequate amounts of magnesium, the vitamin C and E that you consume cannot be used.
The problem: Research shows that 68% of individuals in the United States do not consume the daily recommended amount of dietary magnesium, and 19% of Americans do not consume even half of the government’s recommended daily intake of magnesium. Even worse is that these statistics are based on an RDA that is--according to the Independent Vitamin Safety Review Panel--set too low.
Factors affecting our magnesium intake:
What can you do about it? A lot of people will be tempted to want to supplement with oral magnesium tabs. However, this is not the way to go because only a minimal amount is absorbed when taken orally. What happens is that oral magnesium has a laxative effect on the body and most--if not all--is lost in the process.
The answer is to get your magnesium through the skin--or transdermally. This is where Ancient Minerals comes in.
Ancient Minerals is a line of three transdermal magnesium products--bath flakes, oil, and gel--that utilize an ultra-pure, highly concentrated form of naturally occurring magnesium chloride along with other trace minerals.
Ancient Minerals sent us all three products to try out and we've been using them for the last few weeks. While I can't say that I have more energy or anything like that yet, we have experienced some good results. From the gel clearing up a rash on my hand and soothing Lucas' eczema patches to the bath flakes providing a relaxing soak in the tub, I am happy with the products and most of all--I am happy knowing that we are getting more magnesium.
Here's a little bit about each of the three products:
ANCIENT MINERALS MAGNESIUM OIL: The original and still the most popular, Ancient Minerals Magnesium Oil, contains only raw, highly concentrated, ultra pure magnesium chloride and other trace minerals drawn from the Ancient Zechstein Seabed in Northern Europe.
* Restores cellular magnesium levels
* Natural cellular protectant
* Facilitates safe and effective detoxification
* Relief of aches, pains, spasms
* Elevates mood and relieves stress
* Encourages healthy skin tissue
* Helps maintain proper muscle function
* Boosts energy levels
* Supports a healthy immune system
* Balances the hormonal system
* Calms overactive nerves
* Improves quality of sleep
Want It: Ancient Minerals can be purchased online at Magnetic Clay.

Factors affecting our magnesium intake:
- A more highly polluted and toxic environment means we need more magnesium. {According to Dr. Mark Sircus, the human body needs 1000 mg a day.}
- Due to more processing, our food has much less nutritional value and doesn't provide magnesium like it used to.
- We are consuming too much calcium.
