NEW Samsung Front Load AddWash Washing & Front Load Dryer Review

There are so many new fancy appliances on the market these days. Many of them are loaded with technology to the point where you ask, “Why do I need it to do that?” Recently I got the chance to check out the brand new Samsung Front Load AddWash Washing Machine and Front Load Dryer. Let me tell you, they are filled with lots of fancy features and none of them have left us asking why.

First, I want to start with the delivery by hhgregg, which was seamless. They removed my old washer and dryer and put it in the garage. They installed the new machines and cleaned up after themselves. All in 15-20 minutes AND with a smile. Easy, peasy! So now let’s talk about the washing machine – the Samsung WF7500 Front Load Washer with AddWash. You see the fancy buttons and screen? I was overwhelmed at first thinking it would be complicated. Not so! It took seconds to figure out how to get a load going. Super easy and every feature has a meaningful purpose.

The AddWash feature is quite simply a small door on the front of the washer that allows you to add something mid-cycle. Brilliant! You don’t know how many times I remember something else that needs to be added to the wash a few seconds after starting a cycle. Of course, with a front loading washing machine like I used to have, you can’t simply toss something in without making a huge mess on your laundry room floor.

Another feature we love? The washer is also 5.0 cubic feet making it extremely large. This means you can wash comforters and lots of towels and pretty much anything you want to. This washing machine can take it.

When you combine the capacity with the Super Speed Feature, you literally have a super washer. It will wash any size load in just 30 minutes. That’s pretty awesome!

PowerFoam is another cool feature that mixes the right blend of water and air to basically supercharge the cleaning power of your detergent. The machine also has a self-clean feature that eliminates the need to use chemicals to keep your washer clean. Yep, that means no more smelly washer!

Next up is the Samsung WF7500 Front Load Dryer. This dryer has almost as many features as its washing counterpart! At 7.5 cubic feet, this dryer has a huge load capacity. It will efficiently dry anything you put in there! One feature that I really appreciate is the vent sensor, which can detect issues and blockages with your vent line and helps you to remember to keep it clean. There are so many house fires that are started from dirty or blocked dryer vents. This vent sensor is a must-have!

And finally, our favorite feature is the Multi-Steam Technology, which steams clothes to remove odor and bacteria and wrinkles and static. There are other dryers on the market that have a steam feature, but most of them have a water reservoir that you have to refill. The Samsung WF7500 Front Load Dryer is cool because it hooks up to your water line so no refilling needed.

Watch Mike’s video about both the washer and dryer below!

We have been using this washer and dyer for a few weeks now and we LOVE, love, LOVE them. Both the washer and dryer have programing features that allow you to set up your favorite cycle so its quick to get a load going. Plus, the Samsung’s Smart Care app allows you to sync your phone with your machines and diagnose any issues or concerns. All the features make sense, they are simple to operate, and our clothes are cleaner and better cared for than ever before.

Simple Ways to Refresh your Home This Spring #BestFeelings

Once the weather starts to get a little warmer (usually a little earlier here than up North) and I begin to hear the birds chirping outside, I know that spring is near. I don’t know what it is about this transition from winter to spring that always gives me the urge to refresh our home for spring! I think of it as renewal for our home and myself – especially when I incorporate a fragrance from the new and refreshing Glade® Limited Edition Spring Collection. It gives me an exhilarating boost of energy to revitalize my entire home, top to bottom. That being said, it can feel quite overwhelming to spruce up the entire home. Today, I want to share some quick and easy tips that will hopefully make the process a little bit more manageable for you this spring.

Spring Cleaning Tips

Have a plan. Write down everything you want to get accomplished. What areas of the home do you want to refresh?

Set a time limit. Give yourself a certain amount of time to get each project done, set a timer, and get to work. Once the timer goes off, move on to the next project. This motivates me (it’s like a competition with myself!) and also makes the process feel less overwhelming because I know there is an “end” in sight.

Work in stages. Seriously, there is no reason to do all spring projects in one day. Once you have made a plan, you can divide it up over a few days (i.e. bring out the brightly colored pillows and towels on Monday, organize the pantry on Tuesday and so on).

Light a few candles in several rooms around the house to help revitalize and freshen your home. I love the new Glade® Limited Edition Spring Collection – especially the Glade® Dig It Jar Candles. They are fruity and floral, putting me in the mental state of spring and motivating me to go outdoors and do what I love!

Glade Candle

The Glade® Limited Edition Spring Collection features several uplifting fragrances that perfectly reflect spring:

  • Lift Off (White Tea and Magnolia)
  • Live Loud (Rosehip and Plumeria)
  • Splash Out (Blackberry and Spring Rain)
  • Let Loose (Kiwi and Wild Peach)
  • Dig It (Citrus and Sunflower)

Put your family to work too! Have a “spring refresh day” and give each family member a specific job that is age appropriate. You can even give out fun awards for whoever does the best job!

Focus on organization. Make sure that toys are put away, house is de-cluttered and everything is in its spot. An organized home always helps me feel ready for the day ahead.

What spring fragrances inspire you and your home for the upcoming season? Share your thoughts and ideas via Twitter and Facebook using #bestfeelings, and be sure to visit for more information and Like on Facebook and Follow on Twitter for all the latest news.

To help you relax after all of that spring cleaning, Glade® is offering one lucky reader a fun prize package featuring Glade® Dig It Jar Candles and a $100 Spa Gift Card! Simply leave a comment on this post to enter to win!

How To Clean Your Shoes & Make Them Look New Again

I don’t know what it is about kids and little boys in particular, but somehow they just attract dirt. Lucas sees a mud puddle and finds it physically impossible to walk around it. He has to walk right through it. In Georgia, this is an especially bad thing because our dirt is red (better known as Georgia Red Clay) and stains everything. Lucas’ shoes usually end up looking something like this…

And, this is after I tried washing them with soap, water, and lots of elbow grease!

But, I’ve found a solution…Mr. Clean Magic Eraser!

Wet the sponge and rub it over your child’s shoes — no scrubbing necessary.

Voila! All the stains come off revealing a brand new shoe! It works just like an eraser!

This works on leather or leather-like sneakers, Croc style shoes, etc. I’ve even used it on some canvas shoes! This method can be used on both white and color shoes as well. Just make sure to do a quick spot test first to make sure that the Magic Eraser isn’t lifting any color from the shoe.

Our #BagsterChallenge Recap

A couple of months ago, the Bagster Bag put me up to a home improvement challenge. Tackle a DIY or clean up project around the house using their Bagster Bag. So, I decided to tackle the basement storage room, which is a big mess…

or, I should say…was a big mess. Look at it now…

It’s not perfect, but it’s so much better, right?! I mean…we can actually WALK in the room now LOL. Now we just need some shelving and we’ll be all set!

We threw out a lot of trash–cardboard boxes, packing material left over from our move, and other stuff that I don’t even want to admit was in my basement LOL. It was all very easy thanks to the Bagster Bag. Here’s how it works. Head to your local home improvement store and buy the Bagster Bag for $29.95. Open the bag up and start filling it up!

You can fill it and fill it with trash and household debris because it will hold up to 3,300 POUNDS of trash! The bag is really tough and durable!

Once you’re done filling the bag, then call Waste Management and they will come to pick it up. Pick up rates vary depending on your location, but it ranges from $79 to $159 per bag. In my area, it is $99. That is much cheaper than paying for a dumpster–50 to 70 percent less than a dumpster rental!

We have always been DIYers so the Bagster Bag would have come in very handy so many times! It is such a convenient and affordable way to get household projects done without spending a ton of money on dumpsters. Highly recommend it!

You can purchase the Bagster Bag at more than 2,000 home improvement and hardware stores across the country. To find a local retailer near you, visit Stay up to date on all Bagster Bag news on Facebook and Twitter.

Waste Management partnered with bloggers such as me to participate in its The Bagster® Bag Blogger Challenge. As part of the program, I received compensation. Arm & Hammer Baking Soda Uses

Baking soda is without a doubt one of our favorite household products. It truly has a use for just about every part of your home–from baking to cleaning to beauty!

Here are some of our favorite ways to use baking soda…

  1. Sprinkle in your shoes to kill odor.
  2. Sprinkle it on your carpet a half hour to hour before you vacuum to freshen. Kills pet and other household odors.
  3. Mix it with a little bit of water to form a paste. Use the paste to soothe bug bites and other skin irritations.
  4. Keep a box of baking soda in your refrigerator to eliminate food odors.
  5. Keep a big box handy by the stove to extinguish fires.
  6. Soak your feet in a bowl of hot water and baking soda to soothe your feet at the end of a long day.
  7. Add a 1/2 cup of baking soda in your laundry to keep whites white.
  8. Combine it with 3% peroxide to use as toothpaste.
  9. Make a paste of 3 parts baking soda to 1 part water and use it as a facial scrub or body exfoliant.
  10. Combine with hot water and distilled vinegar in a large bowl and soak sippy cup and bottle parts to get rid of odors.
  11. Make your own household cleaners.
  12. Get your combs and brushes clean by soaking them in a mixture of warm water, a couple of drops of shampoo, and a bit of baking soda.
  13. Sprinkle baking soda on a clean damp sponge and and use to safely and gently scrub bathroom tubs, sinks, tile, kitchen counter tops and cook tops.
  14. Baking soda can be used to clean fruits and veggies. Just mix with water and use to clean your produce. Rinse after cleaning.

Household Laundry Tips

This month we’re talking laundry as part of the Arm & Hammer Switch and Save Blogger Challenge. I have to say that laundry is the bain of my existence. There are only three of us in my household and the laundry still relentlessly piles up on a daily basis. It is a neverending cycle of sorting, washing, drying, and folding. I honestly can’t even imagine what it’s like for larger families! Over the years I have learned a few tricks that help keep the laundry into a more manageable task so I thought this would be a perfect time to share my best tips.

  1. Use those nifty sectioned hampers to pre-sort laundry into lights, darks, and whites. If you don’t have one of those hampers, that’s ok. Just make sure to sort the laundry on the day you plan on washing them. Have it in small piles ready to wash that way the process is as simple as throwing clothes into the machine. I also like to pre-sort delicates into a separate bag that way none of my delicates end up being washed by accident with regular laundry.
  2. Do one or two loads every day. This helps keep laundry manageable rather than having huge piles to get through at once.
  3. Whenever possible, fold laundry right out of the dryer. It only takes a few minutes and it’s done. This is much better than throwing it into a basket for “later”. I don’t know about you, but “later” usually comes much later than planned LOL.
  4. Get clothes out of the dryer as soon as they are done. Clothes come out wrinkle-free, which means you don’t have to spend time ironing.
  5. Get help. I typically wash, dry, and fold. Mike puts the laundry away. If you have kids that are old enough to help, enlist them as well!

Of course, some weeks–everything I know goes out the window and the laundry turns into a looking mountainous region in my room and hallway where our washer and dryer are. C’est la vie, I guess LOL.

This is a sponsored post for Church & Dwight Co., Inc, the maker of ARM & HAMMER branded products, who is compensating me to try different products. Save $1.00 on any 2 ARM & HAMMER Laundry Detergents. And be sure and head over to the Switch & Save Challenge for the chance to win $25,000.
