Fun St. Patrick’s Day Craft for Kids: Make an Egghead Planter {Guest Post}

Looking for a fun craft to do with your kids for St. Patrick’s Day? How about the fun and easy St. Patrick’s Day Egg Head Planter?!

I had seen something like this done before and thought it would be a lot of fun to do with my girls. You need only a few materials, about 10 minutes and your kids will have fun!

What Is Needed:

  • Clean eggshell with the top broken off
  • Half a cup of potting soil
  • Teaspoon of grass seed
  • Egg Carton to place Egg Heads in
  • Scissors
  • Black marker to decorate Egg Heads

How to make Egg Heads:

  1. Decorate the outside of the egg with a black marker by drawing a face on your egghead.
  2. Fill the egg almost to the top with potting soil. Let the kids do this, they will have fun filling up their Egg Head.
  3. Sprinkle the soil with a few seeds.
  4. Add a little more potting soil on the top.
  5. Carefully water your Egg Head and make sure not to overflow or soak it.
  6. Place in a sunny location in a cut out piece of egg carton.
  7. Your seeds will begin to sprout in a few days and your Egg Head will grow “hair”!
