Happy New Year! What are your family resolutions for 2013? #greatstarts #photoaday

As we say goodbye to 2012 and ring in the new year, many of us are busy making resolutions. This January, instead of making a list of your own resolutions, how about making it a family activity? We typically do this every year – we make our own individual resolutions and family resolutions. We’re still working on our list, but so far we have the following:

1. Have a family game or movie night once per week.
2. Do more outdoor family activities – especially during the Winter.
3. Try out one new recipe per week.

In the spirit of our resolutions, we decided to start out 2013 with a bang! We spent New Year’s Eve celebrating together as a family.

We made a big pot of chili (a new recipe we’d never tried before), ate a big bowl by the fireplace and then turned on the Xbox Kinect for a Jolly Family Showdown! We played sports, danced, and pretty much just goofed off for a couple of hours – it was a blast! Then, we headed outside for s’mores on the fire pit and firecrackers.

We came inside just in time to pop open some sparkling apple cider and watch the ball drop. It was a perfect night!

Throughout the month of January, I’ll be participating in a fun Photo a Day Challenge  with Kellogg’s where I’ll be posting a photo each day according to the day’s theme – each picked to serve as daily reminders for the potential that can be found in every day. Today’s picture – Unlocking Potential…

  1. It looks like you all had a great time! I love the first photo so much.

Just a heads up, I didn’t get this post’s email. I got your emails before. I don’t know if it’s me, or everyone on your email list.
