Let’s Blaaaze! Blaze and the Monster Machines Toy Review

Disclosure 1

Kids are curious little beings. They intently watch and touch and ask questions about the world around them. As parents, it’s our job to help nurture that curiosity and love of learning. The key for both kids (and anyone really) is to keep learning fun. We all learn better when it’s a fun experience! In our home, we really try to stick to toys, apps, games, and TV shows that are entertaining, encourage imagination, and are educational for kids. That’s why we are big fans of Nickelodeon’s Blaze and the Monster Machines, which  follows the adventures of the amazing monster truck Blaze and his eight-year-old driver AJ, and it’s the first preschool show on TV to comprehensively cover all areas of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) in every episode.

So why is STEM so important?

STEM jobs are growing at 1.7 times the rate of non-STEM jobs, and the U.S. is simply not producing enough candidates to fill them. Only 16% of high school seniors are interested in pursuing STEM careers, according to the Department of Education. We need to change these statistics and instill a love of learning in our kiddos. The best way to do that is by showing kids that learning is fun.

Blaze and the Monster Machines is a cute show that both Amelia and even her almost 8 year old brother, Lucas love to watch. The show explores all sorts of STEM topics like how things move, magnetism, physics, tackling problems through science and math, and more. The information is delivered in small bits along with fun music and humor so kids can easily understand the concepts.

And now Blaze fans can play and learn with their favorite characters with a new line of toys launching at Target this August! The highly anticipated toy lineup includes a die cast collection, talking and transforming vehicles, playsets and plush that are as fun and dynamic as the characters featured in the series. Today, I want to show you two of the toys – Talking Blaze and the Diecast Toys.

Talking Blaze brings to life the STEM concept of sound waves! You press the button on the hood and Blaze says different lines from the show and makes sounds.

What’s a sound wave? When Blaze talks, his words turn into a sound wave that moves through the air to carry the sound to your ear!

I have always loved Die Cast toys for kids because they really spark imagination and the Blaze Die Cast vehicles are no exception. Kids have fun collecting them and then recreating the scenes from the show. My kiddos loved both of the toys and that even includes, Lucas who is older.
